TRISH
Aiden told me that my mom was adopted so we're not cousins. We weren't related to each other and that was the truth. He also told me that I'm the girl he told me months ago. I'm the girl he's in love with. It was hard trying to sink it all in my mind. At first, I couldn't believe any of it. I kept on replaying our conversation in my mind as I walk towards the gang. I needed to divert my attention.
The gang was still complete. They were chatting about school gossips when I came. They all glanced at me while I sit in front of Jb. "You okay?" She said hugging me from behind as she rest her head on my shoulders.
I nodded in response. Kate gave me a sympathetic smile. I gave her my 'okay look' so she wouldn't worry about me.
Jb hugged me tighter. I know she knows that I'm not okay. Instead of bugging me about details, she planted a kiss on my cheek.
Jb's the sweetest girl I have ever met. She's mine now and I'm hers. It's all that matters now.
"I love you" I whispered.
I felt her smile. "I love you more, Trishy"
Jake broke our moment. He suddenly surged up and sprinted towards the ocean. It was dark but the bonfire lighten up the area. Dean and Jeremiah followed Jake who was laughing so hard without any reason at all.
Let me guess, they're high again.
Breaking my gaze at the boys, Kate asked me. "Trish, are you sleeping over at my house tonight?"
"Yeah"
"How about you, Jb?"
"I'll go just to make sure Trish is safe"
"Boohoo she's safe with me" Kate said.
"Yeah I know that bff" Jb laughed.
"Are the boys coming too?" Annabelle asked.
"I'm not sure. They can if they want. My parents are not home"
"Ohhhh party!" Annabelle said raising her arms up.
Hope Aiden's not coming. I'm not ready to see him.
It was midnight when we arrived to Kate's place. Her family's house was not very modern in design but it was huge. We all know Kate is rich but she didn't brag about it. She never boast about their family's money. She's naive in some things except for fashion. She's an ultimate fashionista. That's why I liked her. She's my best friend. The nicest and most adorable friend I've ever had.
When we got inside, the smell of old wood enveloped the whole area. We bonded in the living room so it wouldn't be a burden when we clean in the morning.
"We're all sleeping here at the living room" Kate announced making her way towards the kitchen.
"Ugh living room? I thought we're gonna have..." Jake exclaimed so Kate would hear.
"Ewwwwwww" Annabelle giggled.
Kate came back with beers and chips.
She elbowed Jake and said, "We're not having sex, Jake"
Jb sat down on the sofa letting me sit on her lap. She buried her head on my back as I reached for the chips on the coffee table. I fed her some and she almost bit my finger. It was funny though.
"You tired?" I asked her stroking very short boy cut hair with my fingers. I don't know why but I like playing with her hair.
"Nope"
I stood up pinching her cheeks. "You're sleepy"
"No I'm not" She said sticking her tongue out.
"I'll just get some beer"
Frowning, she asked "Do you really have to drink?"
"Just a little"
"promise?"
I nodded. I left Jb with the boys and went to the kitchen to join the girls. They were opening the bottles when I came.
"You drinking tonight?" Annabelle asked handling me a can of beer.
"Yeah"
"So how's Jb the lover?" Annabelle asked laughing.
Smirking, I replied, "A lover? What the heck. She's more than okay"
"Oh please. Come on let's join the boys!
We came back with more chips. The boys were playing cards while Jb sat on the floor drinking beer. I sank down beside her placing my beer on the table.
I scooped her in my arms while I chat with the girls. It was almost morning when we all got tired and decided to call it a night. We searched for our sleeping areas. Jb and I chose to sleep at the big couch near the television. I got the pillows while she searched for blankets.
She looped her arms around me tightly and pulled me against her chest, clinging to me as if it was her last.
"Promise me you'll never lie to me"
"I will never lie to you, Trish."
"That you deserve my trust"
"I will never cheat on you. You're all that I want"
I didn't reply.
She pressed my hand squeezing it gently.
"I love you and I'll prove it to you" She whispered kissing me on the forehead.
"If you'll be my star, I'll be your sky"
"I am your star, Jeanine"
"Yes you are"
-----------------------------
Someone shook me awake. I snapped my eyes open and saw Jb.
"Wake up sleepy head"
I glanced around and everybody was still asleep except for Jb. "It's too early, babe. Let me sleep first" I said closing my eyes hoping to sleep again but she stopped me.
"You can sleep later. I'm going to show you something." I frowned but I got up. She told me to hurry up so I rushed into the bathroom first so that she wouldn't faint because of my bad morning breath. When I was done, I followed her. It was dim as we went upstairs. Jb opened the door leading to the terrace of the second floor. We stepped out. Amazed, I went to the fence watching the sun rise. It was like a diamond in the sky.
Jb hugged me from behind. "If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes, only then would you realize how special you are to me"
"Why did you bring me here, Jb?"
"Because you're the sunshine that makes my day"
I turned to face her. Our forehead touched as our eyes met. We kissed while the sun shined brightly.
