Chapter Eleven

AIDEN

Training was done when I started looking for Trish. Where the heck is she? I went to the art room, locker room, gym, everywhere but she's no where to be found. I tried calling her phone but she wasn't answering. I went out to the parking lot hoping that Trish was there waiting but I saw Kate. instead. I ran towards her. "Kate Kate!" I yelled until she stopped and waited for me to get closer.

I gasped for breathe and said, "Where's Trish? I couldn't find her"

"Oh Corry gave her a ride home. Didn't she tell you?"

What?

"No" Shit. "Thanks anyway" I turned around and went inside my car. -You can't fucking blame her, Aiden. You're the one who's avoiding her. I shouted hitting my head at the car wheel.

What will I do now? I started the car and drove around downtown. I don't want to go home. Not yet. I stopped by at the candy store and bought some sour tapes and other sweets. I love sour tapes. It's my favorite childhood food. When I was about to go out of the store, I saw Sarah.

Sarah grinned and said, "Hey! What are you doing here?" in a very cheerful tone. I showed her the plastic. "Oh I see. Wanna grab some coffee?"

"Sure" We went outside and walked our way to Starbucks just across the street. I opened the door and she walked stepped in first. The store was almost full; good thing there's a vacant table at the middle. She sat down.

"What do you want?" I asked

"Iced Caramel Macchiato please"

"Okay"

I went to the cashier and ordered a Caramel Macchiato, Espresso and an Almond Croissant. When I was done, I sat down across Sarah.

"So what's up?"

"Damn college is really frustrating" Sarah complained.

I laughed

"So how's West Mount's prince charming?"

"Who? Jake?" I snorted.

"No silly. You, how are you?"

"Uh just a little messed up. Oh wait, super messed up."

"And why is that so?"

"Aiden!" I heard my name. I got up to pick up our food in the counter. I placed the tray on the table and sat down.

"Let me guess, it's the girl again right?"

I nodded.

"This is really complicated"

"Yeah I'm avoiding her"

"What? Why?"

"It's the best thing for us both"

"How did you know?"

"She's my cousin, Sarah."

"So? Blood to blood relationships are allowed in other places"

"It's not that. My parents are not in favor of this. They will disdain us in disgrace"

"Yeah you have a point"

"Fuck life"

"Why do you love her Aiden?"

"Because.. I don't know. I can't stop my feelings. I can't avoid it"

"I need to meet this girl. Swimming party tonight"

Sarah's plan is really brilliant. One, I need a lot of people as a distraction. Two, my parents are not home. Three, it's friday! Just what I needed.

We got in the car and went to her house to get some stuff she needed. She texted Jake, Dean and Jeremiah to come too. Just a small party for our clique. Since grade school, the five of us are always together. Sarah is the only girl but she's one of the boys. She's a member of the red jox just because of us. She's an exception to the rule. What can I say? She's one of a kind.

I parked the car in front of her house while she got the things she needed. We rushed straight to my house to meet Jake and Dean who arrived twenty minutes early.

After a few minutes, I stopped the car and she rushed inside the house to meet the boys. I parked the car. I almost forgot about Trish for a moment. I went inside the house and saw Jake, Dean, Sarah and Trish standing in the living room.

Trish. Trish. Trish. My heart beats faster as I felt butterflies in my stomach again.

"Where's Jeremiah?" I asked

"He's with Corry buying some beer."

"Who'll bring the chips?"

"I invited Kate, Jessica and Annabelle and they're going to bring some" Jake informed me.

"Ohh I miss them!" Sarah said excitedly.

I noticed Trish looking awkward.

"Oh Aiden, you haven't introduced me to your cousin" Sarah said

"Um Trish, this is Sarah our friend and Sarah this is Trish... My cousin"

They exchanged smiles with each other.

"I heard a lot of things about you!" Sarah said

"Oh really?"

"Yeah from my friends back in high school. Heard you're the new hottest girl in school?"

"Ummm"

"So where are you from?"

"Ontario"

"Oh I went there last summer! Where in Ontario?"

"Toronto"

"Cool I love the CN tower though! And the chinese food is really deli!"

"Yeah" she retorded sounding bored

The door opened. Kate, Annabelle and Jessica arrived with food. They immediately smiled when theys saw Sarah.

"Omg!" Annabelle screamed.

"Omg!" Sarah repeated.

The girls ran to group hug each other. "You're stunning! I love the hair. Since when did you dye it red? Totally fab" Annabelle said

"Oh thanks just last month. Look at you! You're losing weight!! Eat some more!"

"I'm on a diet, my dear friend."

"Hello I'm here." Kate said asking for attention.

Can this girls get any more worst?

"I miss you Katie!! And you too Jessica! Finally you're the sb pres! Love it"

"Yeah"

The girls walked closer to us discussing some high school issues. I saw Trish walked up to her room without saying a word.

"Dude I'm hating the screams" Jake said

"Me too" Dean said

"Oh I have a joke!" Jake said

"Shut up Jakie, I miss you but enough with the jokes"

"Someday y'all will beg me to tell some jokes" Jake said
