AIDEN
With a huge grin on my face, I unclosed my eyes for the third time -trying to envelope myself with the rainy weather outside. I woke up an hour ago but I shut my eyes again- hoping to drift back to slumber and fancy about the offing I will spend with girl I revered my whole life. But unfortunately, I couldn't doze off to continue my dream about the foreseeable future so I decided to start my day right. I wailed hauling myself up- gently rubbing my eyes. I peeked through the window and gazed at the heavy rainfall. Last night, the weatherman warned of possible cloudbursts in the morning that's why morning classes are suspended- giving the students a chance to escape from hell and rest. The deluge street towards the campus looks like ghost town. It's almost empty unlike the other days when it is crowded with bustle students walking rapidly to attend their classes on time.
I jerked my body to avert my gaze and extended my arm to reach my phone to check the time. It's already nine in the morning and I know Trish is not yet up. She's probably enjoying the cuddle weather. I dialed her number almost immediately to give her a wake up call. Waiting for her to answer, I lugged in a gray sweater.
I sat on the bed as she picked up on the sixth ring. "Hey" she said sounding somnolent. I smirked as I got a hold of the frame where I placed Trish's photo during senior prom which is settled on top of my bed side table.
"Wake up, sleepyhead" I mumbled running my fingers through her ravishing photo.
"Thank you for the wake up call" she said.
I could hear her sitting up so I asked, "Are you going out? The weather is bad"
"Nope, I'm planning to stay at home and eat ice cream" she retorted making me utter a sigh in relief. "Good" I replied eupeptic- placing the frame back to its proper place.
Trish suddenly tittered. "I missed you" she said then my smile grew bigger.
"I missed you more" I replied feeling fortunate to be alive.
I was on my feet out of the room when I suddenly tripped because of my blue boxers. I dashed into the floor- shoving the things away to give me a space to walk on.
"Are you okay? What happened?" Trish blurted out sounding troubled. I got up and continued my way out. I replied, "Yeah just tripped" opening the door.
I waved at Tyler who is currently busy gulping his coffee while making toast. I leaned on the kitchen wall and said, "I'll see you later okay?"
"Okay"
I replied, "Bye" kissing my phone thinking that it's her as I ended the call.
Tyler cackled- glaring at me like I'm a ten year old who just saw a clown. I knitted my eyebrows giving him a taunty look.
"What?" I asked sounding disgruntled by his reaction.
"You're so weird when you kiss your phone" he mocked as I rolled my eyes looking galled. "You're just jealous" I blurted teasing him back. His laughter arose making me want to punch him on the face to shut his mouth. "I'm not. We don't do it the sweet sugary way" he explained and I sniggered.
"Then how do you do it?" I asked the he wiggled his eyebrows like a maniac looking for a prostitute in the streets. "We do it the fun way" he replied then I punched his arm lightly. "Since when did you grow up?" I chuckled pouring myself a cup of coffee.
"Since you came into my life, baby" he joked hugging my arm like a monkey.
"Eww" I said in repugnance.
Trish is running in my mind for weeks and just to be honest, I will never get tired thinking of her. I will love her until forever ends- that's for sure.
