I sat up in a bed that was covered in a soft gray quilt. I was wearing the same t-shirt and shorts as yesterday but my hair had been pulled back in a ponytail. I felt gross, like I had just woken up from a nap and in desperate need of a shower.

My phone was currently on the table beside me, right next to a glass of water. Everything suddenly rushed back to me, all the things that had happened yesterday. My parents had died. I didn't even care to ask why or how yesterday. Today I was determined to find out.

Just as I stepped out of the bed, Jason came walking through the door with a pile of clothes in his hand. He was wearing a white t-shirt with dark blue jeans. His brown hair was wet from a morning shower and was falling around his eyes. It made me want to go up and fix his hair.

"Good morning," oh gosh, his voice was in a hazy mood that did something weird to my body. How can a guys voice do so much with just two words? "These are for you, Vee picked them up." He set the clothes of the end of the bed then turned to face me. "We'll talk about it once you get dressed." He turned and walked out of the room.

I'm glad our conversation was short, no matter if I was starring at him the entire time without saying one word. I don't think I could have trusted my voice right now to speak without braking into tears. I got dressed in the light blue shirt and black pants that Jason had brought me and walked out into the hallway.

I made my way down to the main floor and walked over to the table where Jason was sitting. "Why?" I asked sitting across from him. He looked up from his hands. His eyes had shadows covering their beautiful color.

"Their crazy. PAWS," he said finally speaking. He rubbed his hand down his face. "Once they find any connection that anyone has to werewolf kind, they get crazy. I think I knew that the moment you left with us."

"Wait, you're telling me you knew. That there was a chance that we could have helped them." How could he keep this from me. It wasn't his decision to keep thing about my family from me.

"I had suspicions, I'm sorry. If I told you you would have gone back." He said looking up at me. "You would be in the same situation as them."

"They were everything I had, Jason. Everything." I was pissed, I couldn't even control my anger. I crammed my hands together under the table in a hope to calm down. "I had no friends, nothing. Everything I've ever done has been for them."

"I'm sorry. I will do anything to help. Just tell me." I could see he was sorry. He looked scared like I was about to storm out of the building. Honestly I wasn't sure if I would or not.

"I don't think going back now will help. That's probably what they want me to do." I said trying to reassure him. I know Jason said I could stay with him, but do I really want to?

"You can stay here. You'll be safe. And if you can't stand to be around me, I'll leave. I just want you to be safe." That did something weird to my heart but I ignored it. Do I want him to leave?

I sighed, "I don't know what I want. I think I'm going to stay here. I not sure how long though," he looked relieved but still sad. "I don't want you to leave either. I know it's not your fault, you were trying to protect me, not in the best way. Next time though you better tell me right away."

He chucked darkly under his breath and looked up at me through his eye lashes. "Hopefully there won't be a next time, but noted." He stood up and helped me stand next to him.

"Let's go. A new adventure starts now." I had no idea what adventure that was. I knew it would be hard but, I would face it with my new family. And that meant the world to me.
