I slammed my metal door shut as I walked into my drafty room. The wall was lined with a array of different wallpaper that the past owners had found on the clearance shelve at Home Depot and my parents and I were to lazy to change it.

So far this Friday had been a day full of misery. My first period class I was late to because I over slept. Then my favorite class, Chemistry, had gotten a new professor and I don't think she knew how to teach. All I wanted was just to have a quiet night in my room with plenty of time with just me, a gallon of ice cream, and a new romance novel.

My happiness only lasted about three minutes before my phone went into a buzzing faze, very loudly. I picked up my phone from my bedside table and read the caller id: Charlotte

Charlotte, has dark brown hair with light highlights that reach the small of her back. Charlotte and I get along really well, especially since we have a lot of the same classes and are able to do homework together.

"Can you please come to Violets party tonight?" She asked the moment I picked up the phone.

"I don't want to, I just had a really long day, and I want to go to bed."

"Come on Mace you'll have fun. I heard Joey Dexter will be there," I mentally rolled my eyes at that last comment, Charlotte though that Joey and I were sole mates. He was class president and could get any girl he wanted.

"Do you just need me to be a designated driver?" I already knew the answer, she knew I wouldn't drink, and I would take care of her if she did anything stupid.

"Yes, but I think you would also have fun if you tried."

"Whatever, I'll pick you up in 10." Then i hung up the phone. I scribbled a note for my parents and then ran to my car, this was going to be a long night.

When we got to the house there was already a few cars parked on the street and I had a felling in the pit of my stomach tells me this was a bad idea. The house was in the middle of a Florida subdivision just a few miles down from Destin.

Inside the house lights were off and black lights  hung from the ceiling lit up the room in a way that made me feel dizzy. The kitchen had temporarily been changed into a bar and the bathroom behind the gigantic living room served as the D.J.'s lounge, which was currently blaring music from the speakers, making my head spin more.

The music was inspiring people to start vigorously grinding in the middle of the open room and for people to start drinking way to much for just the beginning of the party.

I went to the back corner of the second room where an old black coach had been set up. I knew I had made a mistake of coming to this party, but since I had decided to come with Charlotte, I had to drive her back to her house before I could leave.

While I was sitting on the couch a football player I recognized threw up on the cushion beside me, I took this as an invitation to go for a walk around outside. Since I came to these party's once and a while, every time I only had myself as entertainment.

As I walked pass the houses, my feet unknowingly took me to the park. Since the neighborhood is mostly owned by old people, no kids really play on the playground. The once blue swing set is now ugly rustic and makes a loud sweaty sound when you go back and forth, And this is where I would be for the rest of the evening.
