"Sylvie I'm going to need you to call out your buddies name before I can move on." Summer says a small soft smile on her face.
I widen my eyes at her hoping she can read the plead behind my eyes. I know she can tell, because she sends me a sympathetic look, and shakes her head no. I pout nodding my head, before looking back at the small but very significant piece of paper in my hand. I put a fake smile on my face, but it probably looks more like a grimace. I suck in a breath through my clenched teeth, letting it out the same way.
"Ashter Storm." I force myself to say, the irritation clear in my voice. I roll my eyes sinking even lower my seat, crossing my arms over my chest. A scoff escapes my mouth when I see Asther cockily raise his hand, a smug look on his face.
"Oh yeah raise your hand like everyone one in this room doesn't know who you freaking are." I hiss out the side of my mouth at him, keeping my voice low not needing Summer to hear me. I sit there in my own misery. I keep quiet until Summer gets through with her rounds, everyone else looking quite satisfied with their partners. I look over at Riley to see her trying to attempt to get her partner to laugh. I glance over her shoulder trying to get a look at the person. The frown on my face grows deeper when I see her partner. She looks like she's on the gothic side, but not in a crazy way. She has on black, but also turquoise. She looks like she only has minor problems, but you cant judge a book by a cover, she could be crazy.. I hear Riley throw out one of her good jokes, and I watch waiting to see the girls reaction. At first she just sits there but then she cracks a smirk, laughter filling her eyes.
"Okay guys you have your buddies, take this time to get to know them. Also make sure you switch contact information. Volunteers remember you have a meeting with your buddy, at least twice a week." Summer says her hands clasped together, excitement written all over her face. I let out a silent groan, probably looking extremely weird with my mouth hanging open, an expression of pain on my face. Getting through my silent tantrum I turn towards Ashter.
"Ah ah ah, don't even think about it I'm not giving you my number." He says holding his hands up.
"Fine at least take mine, and text me if you don't Ill just ask Summer for yours." I say rolling my eyes. I turn away from him looking back towards Riley. Seeing her buddy has left, I walk over towards her.
"Hey you wanna go do something after I get done switching information with Ashter?"
"Sure, but umm how are you getting Ashter's information if he's not in here anymore." Riley says glancing over my shoulder. I let a grunt looking towards the sky, and asking silently in my head Why me?
" Well then. I'm about to go chase him down, but meet me at my house in like 20 minutes or so. Okay?" I then turn around sprinting towards the door. I hear her shout an okay, as I walk out the classroom. I look left and right making sure he's not in the halls. Seeing the coast is clear I rush towards the front of the school. Oh how I hate people who are tall, they definitely have an advantage in the walking and running department. I get to the big wooden doors, that are keeping me closed off from the sweltering heat. I take a breather really quickly before opening the door, and running past the threshold. I stop at the top of the stairs looking out over the parking lot. My eyes scan over the parking lot before I see Ashter's tall lean figure heading towards a black mustang. I take no time waiting, and practically slide down the stairs. I keep my eyes locked on that black leather jacket slowly walking away from me. I finally get in pace with him, and I stop running trying to match his pace, while also breathing like I just came up to the surface to breath. I position myself in front of him, and he glances down at me a surprised look in his eyes. I hold up a finger signaling for him to wait, placing my hands on my knees trying to catch my breath. He waits a few seconds before side stepping me continuing his journey to his car. I roll my eyes for about the hundredth time, as I stand up straight before walking/ jogging towards him.
