"You got this Sylvie. You are a strong, powerful, and smart woman, and a High School party will not be the end of you." So here I am sitting in front of my mirror giving myself the good old pep talk. This was my last resort after of course trying to think of all the possible ways I could suddenly be unable to go to this party tonight. I thought of every scenario in the book. After me and Riley got off the phone yesterday I even googled ways to get out of going to a party, but out of all the suggestions none seem good enough to fool Riley. So at the end of the day, I had to put on my big girl underwear and get in the shower. I'm not gonna lie I cried the whole time I stood in the steaming water. I mean who else wouldn't cry if they knew the end of their life was near. I know it seems like I'm over exaggerating but if you're normal and have read a book in your life, everyone knows that the sweet innocent little girl ends up getting drunk, and therefore almost raped. In my life, I AM that sweet little girl. Now if you're not normal then please judge me, but if you are don't try to look at me weird because I let myself bawl in the shower. The sound of a chime breaks me out of my narrated thoughts, my stress levels also rising. I pick up my phone clicking on the power button, and the first thing I see is the text message of doom.

My unfair BFF: Syl, come get the door me and Jamie are here. Try any funny business, and I'll just expose to Jamie where the spare key is!

Fudgesicles how did she know I was gonna try and act like I wasn't here? What did I say? Crazy bestfriend. I push myself from my chair, before stomping my way out of my room, and downstairs. I snatch open the door, to see Riley grinning at me widely, to which I scowl at and walk away.

"Oh don't act so angry, you're gonna have fun." Riley exclaims as she walks in.

"If by fun you mean get raped and impregnated then no thank you!" I yell as I walk back upstairs to my room. I throw open my bedroom door, before plopping down on my bed a sigh escaping past my lips.

"Sylvie no one is going to impregnate you! I told you to stop reading these freaking books, they put unrealistic things into your head. Plus I'm not stupid enough to let you be by yourself during your first party." I let out a scoff at this my eyes unintentionally rolling.

"Yeah like you're not gonna leave my side after 30 seconds."

"Oh shut up, now enough conversation we gotta get ready." Riley says after carelessly dismissing my question. I sit up on my bed my eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"Why are we getting ready so early? We have like three hours." Riley suddenly stops talking before her and Jamie look at me in disbelief. They stay like that for a couple of seconds before bursting out laughing causing me to grow even more confused.

"Could someone please tell me why you're laughing!" I yell trying to get there attention over there hideous laughter. Riley tries to calm down her and Jamie taking deep breaths to control themselves.

"Sorry just trust me when I say we're gonna need all three hours." I don't say anything as I sit there with my mouth hanging open in shock, the disbelief clear on my face.

"I am not wearing that! How do you even consider that a dress?!"

"It's not even that short. Would you at least try it on?"

"NO I refuse to be like those girls at our school who wear those skirts that show all their goodies."

"Syl it's not a skirt it's a dress."

"Could've fooled me."

You know what either you put it on or I'm forcing it on, and that's final." So yeah riley and I had been going back and forth like this for the past 30 minutes. In my defense though the dress was short or at least I was going to say that so I could postpone how fast we got to the party. Hey I was gonna draw out the end of my life for as long as I could. I cross my arms over my chest before throwing Riley a challenging look. She raises her eyebrows at me before cracking her knuckles and rolling her head from side to side. I immediately feel my eyes widen when I realize that she was actually serious. I turn to make a run for it, but somehow Jamie is on Riley's side today and is blocking my path for escape. I silently try to plead with her using my eyes hoping she'll feel sorry for me and step to the side, but sadly Jamie is evil and instead decided to push me back into the hands of Riley.
