Everywhere I look there are flashing lights. Not the police type of lights but the type of lights that they have in the clubs. I look down at myself to see a blurred outline of my hand. I rub my eyes hoping that will put everything in focus but it all stays the same. I look around to see people standing around the faint sound of laughter flowing through my ears. I could feel a low humming in my body as if it was the bass to some song that could possibly be playing. I feel something wrap itself around my waist and I feel my body go still. This was a dream right? I look down to see two strong arms holding me tightly. I try to turn around but its as if there's some invisible magnet keeping me in place. I trying walking but I'm always pulled back by the pair of arms. The buzzing feeling in my body starts to intensify and so does everything else. What is going on? I try to once again walk the buzzing getting louder in my ears the need for release pulsing through my body.  "Just relax sweetheart."

My eyes snap open and I'm greeted by white walls, my quotes that I had hung on the wall staring back at me. I close my eyes taking a deep breath trying to remember what I was dreaming about but sadly nothing would come to mind. I turn so that I'm lying on my back my hand covering my eyes. I'm almost back into the wonderful land of dreams when all of a sudden I feel a vibration coming from the back of my head. I sit up moving my pillow to find my phone underneath. I pick it up turning it around to see that it's Riley.

"Morning." I say before letting out a needed yawn.

"What are you talking about morning its like 2 in the afternoon." I feel my eyebrows furrow in confusion before I look over at my alarm clock to see that it is about to be two in the afternoon. I let out another yawn as I lean back onto my pillow covering my body back up with my toasty covers.

"Well would ya look at that I guess time does really fly when you're asleep." I mumble as my mind starts to slip back into oblivion.

"Sylvie!" Riley's shouts into my ear causing me to once again shoot up in my bed.

"What, what I'm up!" I shout while trying to calm down my jumping nerves.

"No you're not you were just snoring in my ear."

"I do not snore!" I interject before Riley can continue.

"Actually you do, but onto more important matters. Did you hear the news?" Riley ask excitement building in her voice with each word. This causes me to stop zoning in and out and I move to get out of my bed.

"No what happened?" I ask her as I move towards my drawers to get something to wear.

"Word on the street is that Ashter got into another fight." At these words I stop shuffling through my clothes trying to find a random t-shirt to wear.

"What when?" I ask while my mind immediately shoots back to last night. I hadn't noticed any bruises or cuts but at the same time it was dark outside, and we were sitting in the shadows of my house.

"They said at some club he was at, or maybe it was a party, I don't remember exactly but something along those lines."

"Well have you heard anything since then. Is he going to go to jail or something?" I can already feel myself slowly start to panic the amount of distress I saw him in last night making me really concerned.

"I hope not, but I heard that he managed to escape before the cops could get him, otherwise he'd already be there. I hope the word hasn't spread that far because the police only have the other guy that he fought with, and luckily he doesn't remember who he fought because he was drunk. I just thought I'd let you know, you better get that hot piece of meat before he's taken away. I got to go though so call me later if you need anything love ya." I don't get to say bye before the line goes dead. I let out a breath before moving to get ready. I take a quick shower throwing on some Nike shorts and a shirt not really caring how I look today. I make my way downstairs before stopping in shock to find my parents lounging around in the kitchen.
