I break the surface of the water a frown on my face as I glare up at a smirking Ashter. I ignore him as I swim to the stairs forcing my body to push past the water. I accidentally trip because of Riley's stupid high heels that are still strapped onto my feet. I growl when I hear Ashter chuckle at my stumble my anger towards him only growing. I immediately feel my body tense up as the wind blows causing me to shiver. I wrap my arms around myself as I stomp back towards the patio chair grabbing my purse and phone so that I can leave. I hear the patio door open and I turn to see who it is, my body relaxing when I see it's Riley. She always did have perfect timing, and what I needed right now was to go home and die from embarrassment. The happy smile on Riley's face disappears as she take me in from head to toe, a horrified expression masking her face. She starts to run in my direction, and I feel a grateful smile appear on my face as I think about how lucky I am.

"Oh my goodness, what happened? Who did this to you?!" She exclaims as she approaches me. I open my mouth to snitch on the evil person behind me, but stop short when I see her drop to her knees her hands going to her shoes. I feel my jaw drop as I realize that she didn't even care about me but instead about her shoes. I feel the last nerve in me go away and I burst.

"You know what, that's it!" I scream as I walk back over to the patio chair.

"Woah Sylvie what's wrong, why are you screaming." Riley asks true concern now on her face. I look at her silently in disbelief before it gets turned into spite.

"What's wrong?" I repeat her question out loud trying to clarify that I heard her right. She simply nods her head and I scoff.

"Do you not see me soaking wet right now?! Oh wait never mind you did see me standing here soaking wet but instead of caring about me, you were worried about these stupid shoes. So you know what," I say while unhooking the strap on the shoes "You can have them, because I see what you truly care about." I throw them at her feet before getting up and pushing past her. I storm back into the house pushing past the making out couples ignoring their curses directed towards me. They could honestly go f*** themselves for all I care. I make it into the main room my eyes scanning around trying to find a way to escape. I make my way into the crowd slipping multiple times from the water that dripped onto the floor from my hair. I make my way through the thrashing bodies around me, finally escaping to the other side. I walk over to the door throwing it open before walking outside, scanning the drunk people around me as they stumble in the front yard. I make my way towards the curb before sitting down my head dropping to my bent legs.

I don't even know why I would possibly think that Riley would freaking care. She probably thought me and Ashter were having a little "fun". Sometimes she can be really clueless, but sadly I know I'll eventually forgive her because she'll come back crying about how she didn't know, and I give in. It's a continuous cycle.

I hear the sounds of footsteps approaching from behind me, and I don't move from my position thinking it's Riley.

"Let me guess you accidentally tripped into the pool?" I hear Masons voice ask and my head shoots up. I feel slightly disappointed that it wasnt Riley but I easily slip a smile on my face when I catch eyes with Mason.

"I guess you could kind of say that." I tell him sheepishly my eyes falling to my knees. I hear him chuckle before taking a seat next to me.

"Well wanna know something?" He asks me and I look at him from the corner of my eye. I shrug my shoulders wrapping my arms tighter around myself.

"You aren't the first person to fall into my pool." Mason tells me and I look at him curiously.

"Let me guess some drunk guy who got lost?" I ask him a small smile forming on my lips. He laughs at this his head tilted up to the sky, and I let myself laugh a little.
