"umm- uh- okay?" I say, well ask as I look at Ashter in shock. We continue to stand there in silence neither of us saying anything and me awkwardly smiling. He suddenly clears his throat nodding towards the living rooms direction.
"Oh you want talk here?" I ask him while looking over my shoulder to make sure Riley isn't watching.
"Well why not." Ashter questions his arms crossing over his chest his eyes forming into tiny slits as if he's trying to figure out what I'm hiding. I look down at my hands trying to stall, while also noting that my nails needed to be done. I look up past him before smiling.
"Well you know it's just such a beautiful day, and I could really go for an ice cream cone." I exclaim before grabbing my sunglasses, and pushing Ashter away from the door.
"Sylvie what are you doing, we can talk in there!" Ashter asks while trying to pry my hands off of his arms. I ignore him while pushing him off the porch, and closing the front door behind me. He suddenly does some fancy trick and before I know it he has me trapped in his arms, a stern look on his face.
"Sweetheart what are you not telling me? Who's in there that youre trying to hide?" He asks me a smirk on his face.
"Wha- what are you talking about? No one's in there. I just thought we could go eat ice cream, did I ever tell you that the way to my heart was ice cream?" I ask while trying to distract him while I try to remove his arms from my waist. He starts to move his face towards mine and my actions halt as I watch him cautiously wondering what he thinks he's doing. I feel my body go stiff when he brushes his lips against my cheek moving towards my ear making his lips brush them as well. I swallow the saliva that's suddenly appeared in my mouth, as I hear Ashter move to my neck before taking a deep breath. Gosh this dude could do things to a person of his opposite gender.
"Wanna learn some important information?" Ashter mumbles into my neck, and I can only nod, my head not technically in the right place. "Your ears turn red when you lie." My eyes widen and I push away from Ashter and run over to my car to look in my rearview mirrors. I gasp in shock when I see my ears the color of a tomato. I look back over towards Ashter to see him laughing and he tries to cover it with a cough when he sees that Ive noticed. I glare at him before stomping back over and pointing at him accusingly.
"Fine you wanna talk here we can talk here. Just know that I tried to protect you." I snap at him before walking back up the porch into Riley's grandma's house. As soon as the door opens Riley pokes her head from behind the wall separating the kitchen from the living room.
"Who was at the door? Wait hold on was it Ms. Robinson again? I keep telling her if she keeps constantly holy fudging moly am I hallucinating or is Ashter Storm standing in my grandmother's living room?" I roll my eyes at her reaction before giving her a curt nod and walking into the kitchen. Jamie looks up from her phone a curious look on her face, as she looks at me.
"Don't." I speak before she can ask any question, walking past her to the dishwasher to grab a cup for some water. My mouth was really parched all of a sudden.
"I wasn't going to, you b****." She mumbles under her breath, and I whip my head back in her direction sending her my deadliest glare. My attention isn't on her for long, because the shouting of my name breaks me out of my fantasy of choking Jamie. I run back into the living room already knowing what to expect. Riley harassing Ashter.
Come on, please just answer my questions and I'll leave you alone. Matter of fact you don't have to answer all of them just one." I hear Riley plead when I enter the living room to see that she has Ashter backed up into a corner, a frightened look on his face. Yes Riley could make even the scariest people become the scared one. I shake my head at her knowing that if he didn't comply any second now she was going to start the threats. Ashter catches my eye and he silently begs me to help him, a look of pure fear on his face. I cross my arms leaning against the wall a smirk on my face hoping Ashters getting my message of "I told you so." I was gonna revel in this moment for a just a second.
