Meeting Liam Karev

Mer's pov
I'm due any day now. I can't wait to see my boy and get him out of me. His mom told me that the Karev boys weigh a lot. I'm not going like him when I'm in labor. I look down at my fully grown stomach. My stomach started to hurt badly.

"Alex" I call from the bedroom. "What is it Mer"? He asks me with concern showing Thur his face. "The baby is coming" I tell him as I crouch down and lie in bed. "Okay lets go to the hospital" he says as he leads out the door and to the car.

The pain got worse. I'm about 2 centimeters apart. He leaves the car and grabs the baby bag. It was getting more unbearable every single time. We get to hospital after 30 mins of driving because of the traffic.

"How many centimeters are you Mer"? he asks me. "3 centimeters" I told him as cried in pain. I have had kids before but I forgot how it hurt. Alex gets out of car and opens the door for me. Alex picks me up and carries me in his arms into the hospital.

"Alex that was sweet" I told him. "That's why I'm here I got you pregnant so now it's mine turn to do something nice" He tells me. "Awe Alex" I tell him.

18 hours later... I was finally dilated 10 centimeters. "Okay Meredith it's time to push" Addison told me. I begin to push. It hurt like hell.

"I can't do it" I told her as I cried from all the pain I was in.

"yes you can" I heard someone say from behind.

"Cristina"? I say shock. I thought you were on your honeymoon"? I asked her.

"We got back early Alex told me that you were in labor so me and Owen left early" she tells me.

"Mer you can do this. You have been though so much. Sticking your hand in a body cavity with a bomb in it, the drowning, the shooting, miscarriage, the plane crash, giving birth, losing Lexie, losing Derek and mark. You have been though a lot you can do this Mer" she tells me. That makes me feel so much more confident. I start pushing.

"Meredith one more push" Addison tells me. I push one more time until I hear a cry. My baby son was born I couldn't help but start crying happy tears.

"Alex this our son" I tell him still catching my breath.

"He has your eyes and your hair" he tells me as he kisses my forehead. Which was probably still sweaty. Addison hands me my baby.

"Alex what should we name him"? I ask him.

"what about Liam"? He asks me.

"I love that name" I tell him.

"What's his name" Addison asks us.

"His name is Liam Andrew Karev" we tell her.

"Awe that's a cute name" she tells as with a smile.

Alex's pov
Meredith was due any day now. I was just in kitchen when I heard Mer call my name from the bedroom. "Alex" She called from the bedroom. "What is it Mer"? I ask with concern showing Thur my face. I could tell Meredith was more in pain every time. We get to hospital after 30 mins of driving because of the traffic.

I love that name" She tells me. "What's his name" Addison asks us. "His name is Liam Andrew Karev" we tell her. "Awe that's a cute name" she tells as with a smile. I couldn't believe I was holding my son. "Liam I won't be like my father ever" I told him as I kissed his small little forehead.

  At that moment I reflected on everything. I realized that I'm the happiest with Meredith then I was with anyone else. I finally have a perfect family. After he was born I called everyone and told them that Liam was born. "Alex" I hear someone say behind me. "Izzie"? I ask shocked. "Alex your dreaming I'm not really here. But I wanted tell you that I'm sorry I doubted you. Your a great father and you truly deserve a stress free life. Meredith and you are wonderful together" she tells me before she disappears in the thin air. I couldn't believe what just happened. But I did feel free.
