A Perfect Day Isn't Always The Best

Mer's pov
"Mommy can we see the zebras"? Ellis asked. "Yes sweetie" I replied. "Alex" Someone called from behind us. Alex turns around. I couldn't believe who it was.

"Jo" Alex said shocked.

"Jo" I said but more irritated.

"Meredith" Jo scoffed.

"Jo what are you doing here"? Alex asked. I haven't see her since after Alex announced our engagement to the whole damn hospital.

"For you Alex. I missed you and why are you still with that slut" Jo scoffs with jealously.

"Jo! There's children here. No she's not a slut. She's the strongest person I know. She had been through hell and back. So yes I'm still with Meredith. Because she's the one for me. So bye jo. I'm trying to have a good day off with my kids. And your being a totally bitch. Oh and who got you pregnant this time"! Alex snapped.

"Actually your fucken ass"! Jo snapped.

"what the fuck, do you mean I did"? Alex asked.

"Jo why are you trying to start shit"! I snapped.

"Well one day Alex came over super drunk. Actually I think it was the night you were raped. He got pretty feisty" Jo said smugly. Where Alex's face started to confirm.

"Alex how could you. You fucken bastard"! I shouted as I slapped him. "Mer, I'm so sorry. I was drunk. I know that is no excuse. I thought I was with George the whole time" Alex apologized.

"Alex, I can't even look at you" I snapped as tears streaming down my face as I refused to look at his face. I walked away as I fast as I could.

"Meredith come back"! Alex yelled.

But I just kept running away.

"Mom why are you crying"? Zola asked.

"Oh no reason. I just had an eyelash in my eye I'm all better now" I told Zola as I wiped the tears out of my eyes.

"Okay mom. Can we get cotton candy"? The girls asked.

"Yes we can" I replied. As we walk to the stand. All I wanted to do is cry.

After 3 hours at the zoo we finally went home. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket.

"Hello"? someone answered groggy.
"Hey, can me and the kids stay with you for a couple days" ? I asked. "Yeah come on down" she replied. "Thanks Callie" I said. "Your welcome. Pick you when you land tomorrow " Callie stated. "Yeah see you then" I said before I hung up. I packed our clothes and put it in the suitcase.

"Mom where are we coming"? Zola asked.

"We are going to visit Sofia in New York" I lied. It was sorta of a lie but it wasn't.

"Yay! Zola exclaimed.

Two hours later it was finally time to go. "Ready"? I asked the kids. "Ready"! The kids replied back. While Lexie just giggled. I just smiled as I grabbed her and put her in the car seat and get into the cab. The cab drops us off at the airport. After baggage claim. We get on the plane.

"Passengers put your seatbelt on we are taking off" the flight attendant calls over the the speaker.

"Mommy we are in the air"! Liam squealed. I'm still terrified to go on planes to this day.

"Yes we are" I answered. After a 16 hour flight.

"Sofie"! Zola squeaked as she ran to her best friend arms.

"Zo Zo" Sofia squeaked as she waited for Zola.

"Aunt Callie"! Bals screams as he runs to Callie.

"Bals! Callie yells.

"Hey Callie thanks again"I said as I hugged her.

"Hey and your welcome it was nice to see you guys again. Where's Alex"? Callie asked. I tried to smile but failed.

"We got into another fight" I said as I grabbed my bags from the floor.

"What happened"? She asked.

"He cheated on me and got her pregnant" I choked out.

"Oh god Mer come here" Callie said as she put her arms out. I moved closer to her.

"He got jo pregnant the night I was raped by Nathan" I chocked out again but this time with tears.

"Oh Mer I'm so sorry" Callie says as she rubs my back.

"Let's go do some sight seeing" I said as I pulled away and wiped my eyes.

"We could do that" Callie said.

"What about the Statue of Liberty"? I asked.

"Yeah let's go there first" Zola and Sofia cheered. That just put smiles on mine and Callie's face.

"Yes Sof we can do that first"Callie says.
