Recovery

Alex's pov
   Me and Mer are at Jackson and April's house. "Mer what anything else to drink"? Aps asks. "Yeah I would like a club soda" Mer responds. Aps walks into the kitchen and pours Mer's drink. "One club soda"! Aps shouts from the kitchen.

  "Coming" Mer says as she gets up from where she is seating. Mer comes back with the drink in her hand and hands me a beer. I take the beer from her hand.

"Thanks for having us over" I thanked jacks and aps.

"It's our complete pleasure"Aps says as she puts her drink on the coffee table.

"Your welcome"Jackson answers. I looked at my phone. It was 1:30 in morning.

"Mer time to go".

"Okay evil spawn"Mer says as she says goodbye to aps and jacks. I get the kids from the playroom. And we drive back home. Mer was snoring in passenger seat. She sounds like a trucker. I have heard the stories over the years from Derek. It took me until our first night together to figure how loud she is.

"Zola, can you help me being Liam in and I will get the rest of them"? I asked Zola.

"Yes Dad" Zola said. She walks away. I was blown away by what she just said.

"Dad". I kept repeating that word in my head over and over again. She has never called me Dad. This was so new. After all the kids were in bed. I carried Mer from the couch to our bed. The next morning, I made breakfast for us as a family. When I see Mer walk in. She looked pretty out of it.

"Mer, how are you feeling today"? I ask.

"Eh, I have a huge throbbing headache" Mer complained as she sat at the table.

"Here's some pain reliever" I relied as I hand her the two pills.

"Thanks baby" Mer thanks me.

"We have to go work" I said as I grabbed our lunches.

"But Alex it's the weekend and we promised we would take the kids to the zoo"Mer stated.

"Oh yeah. I mean I could ask Bailey if she could find people to cover our shifts" I replied.

"I will get the kids ready" Mer said as she went to go get the kids ready.

Mer's pov
After the court case was done. We went home until Alex asks if I was to go to joe's to celebrate. We get there. After a few drinks I don't remember much. The next day. "Mer, how are you feeling today"? Alex asked. "Eh, I have a huge throbbing headache" I complained. "Here's some pain relievers" Alex says as he hands me them. I take them and gulp them down. "Thanks baby" I thanked Alex.

"We have to go to work"Alex replied.
