-Luke-
I went to Niall's apartment to see Jessica.
He answered the door and told me she was in the shower."How is she holding up," I asked him.
"She's doing good, it's such a shame this had to happen to her," he says softly.
"I know, she was so excited about life. She had such a positive mindset. Her eyes would sparkle with such interest in everything, you just don't see that anymore," I admit.
"If I could take all the pain from her, I would," Niall said. "It's not right."
"I know, she's such an amazing girl. I feel so bad for her. I wish I could help more," I say my eyes filled with sorrow.
"I don't know how she does it, she's truly amazing."
"I agree, man. And she just blames everything on herself. I just want her to believe none of this is her fault."
"I try to make her feel as special as possible."
"It's good that she'll leave the house with us. She's not just cooped up inside drowning in her sorrows," I say quietly.
"I give her so much credit."
"I hope he dies than she won't have to worry about anything ever again. She'll be able to live a happy life with ease."
"That's all I ever wanted for her," I admit.
I hear the bathroom door open and soon Jessica comes into view, she looks as beautiful as ever. She's wearing a grey sweater, her hair up in a bun. Her eyes are a dull grey glued to the floor, she eventually looks up and makes eye contact with me. I give her a small smile as she returns it. She walks over to us.
"Luke, I've missed you," she says making my heart swell. She opens her arms and wraps them around my torso.
"How are you feeling," I sincerely ask.
"Alright, I'm hanging in there," she says.
"We should do something," I suggest.
"Like what," she asks in anticipation.
"Go out for drinks or something."
She nods her head, "sounds great, give me a time and a place and I'll be there."
"I mean if you want, I can try to set something up tonight."
"Niall, what do you think."
"Sounds fun," Niall said.
"Okay, we can invite Tom and the other boys if they are available and maybe Susan, I haven't talked to her in so long, we've just become so distant. It makes me so sad when I think about it, we were inseparable," Jessica rambles.
"Sounds good," I respond, it makes me feel so good, seeing her so excited.
"I'll send out a group text," she says grabbing her phone.
I see her adding a bunch of names into a chat. She looks intensely at the phone.
She types hey guys, just wondering if you wanted to go out for some drinks tonight. She hits send. We sit on the couch and wait for a response.
Her phone dings," who responded."
"Louis said, it sounds great."
