SERINA'S POV
Our horse's hooves thumped against the dirt path that we followed through the woods.
My horse followed Andi's, Vylad and his horse behind me.
We had just left Metalli and we were riding as quickly as we could to get to Phoenix Drop.
For some reason, my mind trailed back to thinking about Travis. He was neat... interesting... He was intriguing. That was the best word to describe him, intriguing.
First off, he was a demon's son. He was also Andi's brother. Before them, I hadn't met a demon. Sense I've been a Shadow Knight for a couple months, I had heard about the demons, but I had never really thought much of them.
Are they like Shadow Knights just with different powers? Maybe...
I sighed, it was no use trying to figure out men. They were to complicated.
Vylad snapped me out of my thoughts. "Hey, Serina." He said, to quiet for Andi to hear.
I looked over at him. "What?"
He glanced over at a small path coming up in the distance. "Take that path..." he said with a small smile. "It'll take us back to the stable for our two horses."
I smiled and nodded softly. "But what about Andi?"
He chuckled lightly. "She probably won't even notice."
I nodded softly. "Alright... but-"
He smiled. "No but's. Take the path, alright?"
I sighed. "Fine..."
Soon enough, the path was 20 feet in front of us. At a gallop, 20 feet goes by pretty fast. I and Vylad quickly steered our horses to go down the path while Andi continued on the road.
After a few minutes, I gently pulled on my horse's reigns, slowing down.
I could feel my horse breathing hard, almost panting dog-like, as I slowed her to a complete stop. I looked over at Vylad who had stopped as well. "We should take a break..."
He nodded lightly. "Yeah..." He thought for a moment. "Andi's going to wear out her horse..."
I sighed. "Yeah, and that's not going to do her any good."
Vylad nodded with a small sigh. "Well, there's nothing we can do about it."
I nodded as I slipped off my horse's back. I landed both feet on the ground, smiling lightly.
My horse moved lightly, restless.
I giggled softly, gently stroking her neck lightly. I could feel Vylad watching, watching him out of the corner of my eye. "Can I help you?" I teased.
Vylad laughed lightly, getting off his horse as well, rolling his eyes.
I smiled and led my horse over to the small stream that was running near-by.
My horse drank, grateful for the break. I tied her reins to a nearby tree and let her get a drink.
Vylad walked over, his horse following. He did the same as I did, letting his horse have a break as well. He sat down on a rock, a leaf in his hand. He tore the leaf into small pieces, his eyes focused on the stream. He had a small, soft smile on his lips.
I smiled softly, lightly watching him.
After a while, he looked over at me. "You okay?"
I smiled softly. "Yeah... let's keep going..."
