APHMAU'S POV
As I slept, I dreamed of how Aaron would wake up soon.
Soon.
What a stupid word.
A word that means not right now, but not certainly sometime else. Just.... soon.
That's when Aaron would wake up. Soon.
Soon I could hug him.
Soon, I could feel his arms wrapped around me.
Soon, he could hug me and hold me and never let go.
And I would do the same for him.
I had never been more scared in my life then when he was hit by that sword. When he was left for dead by those shadow knights and how we had to run all over, just to find an antidote. I was scared that he was going to die.
And now, all I got for conformation that he would live, that he would wake up, is soon.
It's not very reassuring, but I guess I'll have to deal with it.
AARON'S POV
All I could think about was seeing Aphmau. I opened my eyes, slowly and with effort, but I got them open. My vision was filled with a fabric over my head that I knew was Aphmau's canopy on her bed. I blinked a few times slowly before I tried looking around.
My neck ached but not bad enough that I could't look around a bit.
The first thing I saw was the sleeping figure next to me, her head on my stomach.
I broke into a smile, but even that hurt.
Aphmau.
She slept soundly, but I could tell she had been crying. Her eyes were bright red, swollen from the tears that soaked my t-shirt. Her bottom lip was slightly swollen and I remembered the habit she had picked up lately. Whenever she was sad or nervous, she would chew her bottom lip, sometimes making it bleed.
I shifted in bed, trying to sit up. As I sat somewhat upright, my head spun, my vision blurry. Stars popped into my vision as I tried to steady myself.
"A-Aaron?" A weak voice whispered.
As my vision cleared, I saw Aphmau staring at me, tears falling down her cheeks.
Her hair was a mess, her clothes wrinkled and folded from a long day. She looked perfect.
I grinned. I could feel how dry my lips were as they hurt like crazy but I couldn't help but smile.
Aphmau registered in her mind that it was really me before she tackled me in a hug. "Aaron..." She whispered, crying.
I could feel her tears on my skin. At least they were happy tears. I held her close, hugging her as tight as I could. "Hey... it's okay..." I said softly, lightly running my hand through her hair.
"Y-You got hit by that sword..." Aphmau sniffled. "A-And we couldn't get you to wake up..." She whispered, new tears running down her cheeks. "I-I kept thinking about how you could never wake up again..." She whispered, her arms still around my neck.
I smiled softly, wincing at the pain. "I'm okay... A bit sore, but I'll be alright..." I said softly to her, my arms around her waist. I hugged her still. I never wanted to let go.
She was mine, and she was perfect.
So, I know I'm a horrible human being and blah blah blah and I know this chapter is short but let's be honest. I haven't updated sense May so I have to go back and read the entire book so I can remember what's going on. >.<
Happy Reading!
