APHMAU'S POV
It had been over an hour sense Andi had given Aaron the medicine.
So far, his breathing had regulated and he didn't look like he was in pain. At least, not to much...
I sighed. I knew going into this that it was going to be tough;getting back Vylad that is. But I didn't know how hard it would be, how many sacrifices we'd have to make. I looked at Aaron.
He had gotten a little bit better but it still hurt to look at him.
I couldn't deny it. I was scared out of my mind.
He couldn't die on me. Right? He had promised to always be there for me, even when everything goes wrong.
Andi had left to go help with the twins, to take her mind off things.
Laurence still hadn't woken up, neither had (Y/N).
Zoey thinks I'm just being paranoid, but I'm scared for them. What if they never wake up? What if something's wrong with them? What if they don't make it...?
My mind spun as I thought about all the possible outcomes. There were so many things that could go wrong and only one way that it could go right. If they woke up. If they were fine. If (Y/N) could go back to her kids and husband, if she could go back to her normal life.
I sighed. Maybe we should take them to an actual hospital.
Phoenix Drop has grown a lot over the last year or so, but we still didn't have a hospital built. We had Zoey as a healer and the spare bedroom in my basement as a 'hospital room' but that didn't do much for us when we had more then one injured.
A couple months ago, I had thought about extending the room into Zoey's and make her a room up by mine and the boys'. But I realized we already had to make a separate room for the boys. They were old enough now that sharing a room wasn't really an option.
I looked at Aaron. When he wakes up, we'd have to figure it out.
I picked up the wet cloth off his forehead, the cold of it gone replaced by warm. I stood up silently and walked into the bathroom.
I thought quietly as I rinsed the cloth out, refreshing the cold water in it. I stared in the mirror.
Who looked back at me, kind of scared me.
There was a girl, who looked similar to me. Her hair was a mess, it frizzy at the end of it. Makeup ran underneath her eyes as if she had been crying for hours. Her eyes were red and puffy, swollen from crying. She didn't wear a smile, only a sniffling frown. She was wearing a large shirt, her fiance's shirt. She wore shorts underneath, though the shirt covered most of it. She was practically lost in the shirt, it so big.
I stared at the girl as she followed my movements, looking where I looked, moving where I moved.
I bit my lip.
Oh my Irene.... that's me.
Hey guys! Sorry for the late update! My power went out yesterday morning and it's still not back on. (I had to wait till I was at school) Hope you liked the chapter!
