I looked at the little boy.
Is that Finn?
A woman with dark hair and a man with black hair walked up behind the boy. "Buddy, that's the wrong room. Mommy's in 238." The man peeked in. "I'm sorry for interrupting anything... Asher is very curious."
My heart dropped as I realized it wasn't who I expected. "Oh... it's okay..." I said softly, giving a halfhearted smile towards the man.
The man chuckled lightly and apologized again before closing the door, him and the little boy disappearing.
I stared at the door a little longer.
Garroth studied me, watching my facial expression. "You thought it was Finn..." he said softly. "Didn't you...?"
I nodded softly before talking a deep breathe. "I don't remember Finn or Lia but I miss them... is it even possible to miss someone you don't know?" I asked softly, finally turning to Garroth.
Garroth thought for a moment. "Yeah... I think it is."
I sighed softly. "How are you going to explain me to them again?"
Garroth bit his lip softly. "Well, I guess I'll just tell them the truth..."
I nodded softly, looking down at the blankets that covered my legs. "Alright... I just don't want to be a disappointment to them..." I whispered softly.
Garroth frowned softly. "If anyone failed them, it was me. I'd be the disappointment. I should have just told them the truth in a way they could understand..."
I looked at him. "Don't blame yourself... if anything, it's that stupid nether portal's fault!"
Garroth froze. "Wait... do you remember that?"
I nodded softly. "It's hazy, and it took me a while to figure it out, but yeah... I think so."
Garroth grinned. "Yes!"
I laughed. "It's not that big of a deal..."
Garroth raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? What would you call a big deal?"
I thought for a moment. "If I get to see Finn and Ophelia..." I said softly.
Garroth chuckled softly. "As soon as they release you from the hospital... then we can go back home and you can see them all you want.
I smiled. "I would really like that."
I can't wait to see them.
