Nagisa turned towards Terasaka. He's gotten McDonalds for him again.
"Thanks," Nagisa murmured, devouring it. It had been only a few days, but Nagisa had fallen into a routine.

Get up, wait for Terasaka. Eat the food he brought, pace around this stupid cage, note how weak his angelic powers felt. Think about Karma. Sleep on the floor. Repeat.

Angels did have abnormal strength- not as much as a demon but still- however down here it felt as if Nagisa couldn't summon any strength he wouldn't have if he were human.
Just where was he? He had a sinking suspicion, but he was too afraid to find out. His gaze turned to Terasaka.

The "guard" was sitting on a stone, looking angrily at the ground.

"Where are we?" Nagisa finally got the nerve to ask. If he was ever going to see his new forbidden lover again, he needed to stop being so weak.

Terasaka laughed without humor. "Hell, obviously."

The angel felt his heart drop to the floor. Of course. That's why it felt like his powers were weakening every day- they had him locked in a place where angels shouldn't be. The place where they were farthest from god and closest to their sworn enemies.
Fucking fantastic.

Yet again, where Nagisa normally would've felt despair, a wave of anger flew through him, pushing back his self-pity. He was not this hopeless.

"Terasaka..." he began, "do you like this job?"

The demon looked up with a glare. "Huh? Why do you care?"

"Because it seems boring to just sit around watching some angel," Nagisa answered truthfully.

Terasaka slowly nodded. "Yeah... but it pays well." He shrugged indifferently, like money was all he cared about.

Nagisa frowned. "You know, I could find a much better job for you if you let me go. I promise."

Terasaka scoffed. "I'm not falling for your tricks, damn angel."

Nagisa leveled him with a glare. "Heard of Karma Akabane?"

Out of the corner of his eye Nagisa noticed Terasaka shift nervously. "What about him? Asano's more powerful." He was bluffing. Either that or he didn't believe it himself.

Nagisa gave him a strangely creepy smile. He didn't know where he'd pulled it from or why, but it felt... appropriate.
"I'm still an angel. I'm not completely useless. And if Karma finds me... well, you can have fun trying your luck against both of us. An angel and a demon combining powers? You wouldn't stand a chance, though I hate to say it."

The angel didn't actually know if his last bluff was true, but he felt like it made logical sense. Both were powerful beings. Working together increased their powers. And either way, Nagisa still had one last option.

His wings. So yes, it was basically his "true form". The only problem was it would alert Asano and any nearby demon because of its powerful aura, and Nagisa really didn't want to deal with him along with the other demons when it was only himself. Another thing was how they were only able to change once a month. Changing forms summoned power that took time to recharge, and it was the same for demons. They just liked their half-shifts so that they weren't at their full power but could recharge their true form faster.

"Terasaka? Say if you... helped me out a bit. You don't have to betray Asano. Just come up with a way to help me where it doesn't look like you did. Then Karma and I will repay you."

Terasaka stared at him. "What?"

"Get on the good side of Karma and Asano, it's your choice. But trust me, Karma will listen to me if I talk to him. Which I plan on doing soon, or dying while I try." Nagisa let himself ooze confidence. His blue eyes flashed with determination. He would make this work, help or no.

Nagisa didn't want to deal with Asano, but he would if he had to. For Karma. Always for Karma.
It felt strange to the angel. To finally put someone above all. To love someone. Yet at the same time, it felt so good. It was like discovering Karma had opened a few new parts of him.
The first wasn't an angelic one, but more like a slightly demonic one. Nagisa almost laughed out loud. How would Kayano react, to hear he'd been fucked by a demon and started to find a side of him that would cause more bad than good? But Nagisa could keep it in control.
The second was a side of him that was just pure devotion. Is this how angels felt before Karma had killed them? Strangely, Nagisa felt no fear thinking about that. He could tell completely that Karma loved him. The redhead, Nagisa had noticed, had a soft glitter in his eyes that hadn't been there before.

"I guess you're right," Terasaka grumbled, interrupting Nagisa's thoughts. "I'm not letting you out, but you better keep your promise!"

"I'm an angel," Nagisa reminded, "it's harder for us to break promises." Which wasn't a lie. Even after everything, Nagisa was a pure creature. Whereas rough sex was pleasing to a demon, it was... distasteful to an angel. Honoring their word came naturally for an angel, and it depended for demons.

"Then wait here." Terasaka walked out.

Minutes later, he walked back in. In his hands was an object wrapped in cloth. He passed it through the bars to the angel. Nagisa unwrapped it carefully, then stared in wonder.

"Is this...?"

"A holy knife?" Terasaka cringed like the mere words sent shivers down his spine, "Yes. I decided to keep it to see if it'd ever come in handy, but I can't touch it so it's no good. It just sits around. I suppose... you would work with it. Although try anything against me and I'll kick your ass," Terasaka warned.

Karma would've called Terasaka stupid, but Nagisa had a sweeter heart. He'd honor his end. Gripping the knife, a smile grew on his face as he realized what a perfect hold it was for him. He would work very well with this.

Mustering up his strength, he did a lightning fast cut against the bars. It cut cleanly. Nagisa couldn't help but smirk.
"I'm grateful, Terasaka."

The guard stepped back nervously, and clenched his fist like he was preparing for a fight. However, Nagisa just cut a gap him his cage and stepped out, tucking his knife away.

"You want to leave and send a replacement? That way Asano doesn't suspect you," Nagisa suggested.

Terasaka looked surprised, then nodded. "Yeah sure. That sounds good. Good luck, Nagisa." He walked out, and Nagisa stepped into the shadows to wait.

Karma debated for half a second, then lunged out and punched Asano in the jaw, knocked him to the ground and put his full strength into kicking him in the stomach.

"I don't know what you're planning," he warned, his voice low and dangerous, "But if you ever mess with Nagisa again..."

He shoved his hands in his pockets and walked back to his old apartment where he sometimes stayed.

If he was going to find his perfect angel, he needed a few supplies.
