Killing an Angel

Chapter 5~ meanings

"Karma? Are you going to leave?" Nagisa questioned.

Karma laid back against the couch, stretching. "Do you want me to?"

Nagisa hesitated, unsure how to answer. He really wanted to just kick the demon out, but at the same time his curiosity wanted him to stay, so he could learn more about him.

"Hmm," Karma turned to look at Nagisa, his eyes filled with devilment.

Nagisa met his gaze nervously. "What?"

"I think I'll stay," Karma began, slowly moving closer to the unsuspecting angel, "After all I never got my reward for saving you."

"Wha-" Nagisa began but was cut off by Karma pinning him on the couch with his body and gently slipping his hand under Nagisa's shirt and caressing his side. Nagisa was frozen in shock, unsure how to react. Their close proximity made him blush, and Karma's hand felt warm. Too warm.

The angel raised his gaze, meeting Karma's lustful, golden gaze. The sight locked Nagisa in, the way a moth was drawn to light. Everything else was forgotten, including the painfully hot hand on his side.
Little did he know...

Then his angel instincts kicked in.

"Karma!" He gasped. He'd move if he could but he was pinned down on the couch, at the mercy of a demon.

Karma smirked. "Sorry Nagisa-chan, I couldn't help myself."

Nagisa's cheeks were flaming, and he averted his gaze. "Are you going to take my soul now?"

Karma's actions honestly confused the angel. If he wanted his soul, why didn't he do it the quick way most demons did?

The red-head laughed. "I don't plan on taking your soul. I healed you remember?" Demons are creatures of sin and chaos. Surely you know lying isn't below us. This is all part of the plan. You haven't even noticed the first step I took!

"And you expect me to believe that?"

"No," Karma shrugged, moving off the angel. "If it makes you more comfortable, you can go get your knife."

Nagisa stared, before getting up and heading to his room. He retrieved his knife from under his pillow. It was better to be safe than sorry.

Nagisa walked back downstairs, finding Karma in the exact same spot, with the tv on.
"Mortal news is so lame," Karma yawned, leaning back lazily on the couch again.

Nagisa narrowed his eyes at the demon. Yes, he'd saved him, but he was still a demon. Correct. It's kill or be killed when it comes to demons and angels. Nagisa's grip tightened on his blade. When he had learned how to fight demons in heaven, he'd always been top of his class. Of course, not fighting in a long time had really taken a toll on his abilities. But if he used a sneak attack...

Nagisa hesitated. What about Karma healing him? Just another tactic, the logical part of his brain argued.
Nagisa stepped forward, lifting his knife.
Then why hasn't he killed you? Nagisa paused again.

"Are you going to try and kill me?"

A body pressed against Nagisa, an arm wrapping firmly around around the angel's slim waist and the other grabbing his wrist. Nagisa gasped, the knife in his hand clattering to the ground.

"And after all I've done for you." Karma tsk'd disapprovingly.

Nagisa held still, unsure what fighting back would do in this situation. "I wasn't going to actually follow through on it."

"Oh?" Karma's voice was low, and he kept a firm hold on the angel. Nagisa's pulse raced.

"Karma?" Nagisa squirmed in his grasp.

The demon chuckled, his breath tickling Nagisa's neck. "You got so worried, Nagisa-chan. I did say you could get your knife. Of course I was prepared for you attacking me, even after all I did."

Karma released his hold, only to pull the angel into an embrace. "You're so cute, Nagisa-chan. If only you weren't an angel." He stepped back, raising up a hand to brush his fingers against Nagisa's cheek. His golden eyes glimmered with mischief.

"See you around, little angel," Karma walked towards the door, turning around to flash an teasing yet endearing smile at blue-haired boy.
