"Karma..." Nagisa murmured into the shirt of the demon holding him.

"Hmm?" Karma hummed softly, showing no signs of moving.

As comfortable as Nagisa was, he was also hungry. "Let me go get food, please."

The red-haired demon released him. "Oh right you're lucky. If you're hungry, all you need is human food."

Nagisa smiled slightly. "Yep. I'd say bye but you'll probably follow me anyways."

Karma grinned. "You know me so well Nagisa-chan."

The two made their way to the nearby cafe, chatting aimlessly about the world. Nagisa was honestly surprised on how easy it was to talk to the demon. All his life he'd been warned against them but this? This felt different than any other encounter with a demon he'd had. It felt like friendship.

As the made their way into the shop, Karma quickly scanned for anyone who might threaten them. It appeared peaceful. Satisfied, he directed his attention back to Nagisa. The blue-haired angel was chatting brightly about something that had happened to him.

He looks so cute when he's excited, Karma thought with amusement. Then he visibly frowned. What was with his thoughts? Ever since he'd claimed Nagisa, he'd been questioning if he would actually follow through with his plan. It made him nervous. He always tried to make sure everything played out the way he wanted it to, and so far it always had in the end. But now...

"Karma are you ok?" Nagisa's concerned voice brought him back to the present.

The demon summoned a smirk onto his face. "Of course. How nice of you to be concerned, Nagisa," he cooed, "you're simply so adorable!"

This caused a furious blush to spread over the angel's cheeks. "Karma!"

The redhead laughed at his expression. "It's true! Anyways, I'll leave you to eat."

Nagisa couldn't help feel only slightly disappointed he wouldn't stay. If he was going to be honest with himself, he enjoyed the demon's company. Even though he never thought he'd say that in his life.
His disappointment must've shown on his face, because Karma leaned close, paying no mind to anyone that could be watching.

"I'll see you around, don't you worry," he murmured, placing a finger under the smaller male's chin to tilt his face upwards.

Nagisa stared into his mesmerizing golden eyes, wondering what he'd gotten himself into. "A-alright."

The red-haired demon put his hands in his pockets and sauntered out, Nagisa's gaze trailing him. Why do you engage yourself in a love you know won't work out? The voice in his head demanded. He closed his eyes, breathing in deeply.

Right now, the angel didn't want to think about it. His priority was food.

He ordered what he wanted, then waited for it to come. Once it arrived, Nagisa sighed as he dug in. He felt like he hadn't eaten in forever, and this was really helping him gain energy.

"So, you've taken a liking to my dear Karma-kun, haven't you?"

Nagisa almost spit out his drink. A girl with stringy brown hair and muddy brown eyes was in front of her.

"W-what?" Nagisa stared in shock. The girl's eyes flashed.

"I can see straight through your stupid lies. Back off! You, a pathetic angel, can not date my boyfriend."

"I never-" Nagisa tried to interrupt, then stopped. Boyfriend? Was she lying or...? Nagisa's thoughts spun.

The girl smirked triumphantly, seeing the conflict on Nagisa's expression. "So it is true. Well, I regret to inform you that won't be happening." A glint of silver flashed in her hands. Nagisa's eyes widened as she swung a knife at him, so quickly that the normal human eye would've missed it.

The angel dodged, practically jumping out of his chair.

"Let's take this outside shall we?" She hissed, practically cornering him to the door.

Nagisa immediately regretted not going to a more public place. This cafe hardly had any costumers nor were there many pedestrians outside.

"I'll prove to Karma that I'm all he needs!" The demon cried dramatically, continuing to press Nagisa into a nearby alleyway.

The angel pulled out his own knife. "No! This isn't what you think!"

The demon's swings were fast, but her fighting was inexperienced.

"Stop lying!" She screeched, and Nagisa had no time to react as she hurled her knife at him. It cut into his side, ironically right where Karma's mark was. She smirked. "Oooh I know! How about I mark you? That-"

"Who dares..?" The redhead materialized in front of Nagisa, a demon's gun in his hand. Where he'd gotten that, Nagisa had no clue. He stood defensively in front of the angel. Nagisa could feel the bloodlust radiating from him, ready to kill whoever touched his prey. Then, he noticed who it was.

"Wait...Ally?" He looked confused. The demon who'd been trying to kill Nagisa gasped, running over to him, ignoring the gun and completely building an act for him.

"Oh Karma! You're here! This nasty angel was trying to kill me! Can you believe it? Please, kill it for me before it kills me!" She wailed dramatically. Nagisa wasn't one to get annoyed at anyone easily, but this girl was getting on his nerves. Seeing her wrapped around Karma so pathetically...

Karma turned to Nagisa. His golden eyes held a question, which Nagisa shook his head to. He prayed Karma would trust him. Would he trust the kind he was supposed to be enemies with over his own kind?

The red-haired demon's eyes hardened. "Go back to your weakling cousin, Ally." In a split second, she flew down the alleyway. Nagisa gasped slightly, realizing Karma had thrown her off him.

Karma walked over to Nagisa, his eyes filled with concern. "What happened?"

"Ah...well... nothing really," Nagisa gave a slight laugh.

"Karma! I'll get you and your stupid angel friend back!" Ally screamed.

"Come near us again and I'll kill you."

Karma pulled Nagisa close to his chest, letting the smaller male relax into the embrace. "Don't lie to me. Especially because I'm betraying my kind for you."

"What?" Nagisa pulled away, trying to meet the demon's eyes. Karma had his gaze cast away, refusing. "Karma..."

He finally looked up. "I want to protect you, Nagisa. I want you to be mine, and no one else's. I don't want to kill you." His eyes were dead serious.

Karma then laughed slightly when Nagisa didn't respond immediately. "It's almost like I've fallen in love with you isn't it?"
