"Didn't Terasaka say we were supposed to be guarding an angel?" A gruff voice asked with confusion.

"Yeah, so why's the cage empty?" The other asked.

Before the first could respond, Nagisa lunged out of the shadows, knife glinting. He wasn't as fast as he would've liked, being it felt like his angelic powers were draining, but he was fast enough. The blade found its target and the first demon dissolved in a cloud of white smoke.

The second one backed away warily. "Where'd you get the knife, little angel?"

Nagisa stayed in a fighting stance. "Why would I tell you that?"

"Security sucks down here," he scoffed, rolling his green eyes, "and I always have to clean up when those demons make mistakes."

In a flash, he was gone. Nagisa felt a blade poke at his neck.
"Meddling angel. I'll take you to Asano and have him suck out your soul painfully and slowly."

Nagisa didn't move, yet he suddenly remembered the feeling that happened when he'd given Terasaka a slightly insane smile.
The feeling washed over him again, this time shooting through his body.

His angelic instincts seemed to feel blurred. Instead, new ones flooded in. They felt dark... yet right. Something about them was familiar to Nagisa, and he sped out of the demon's hold with an unnaturally fast speed. His instincts felt renewed as he stood casually, not even taking a fighting stance. He did nothing to stop the feeling from flowing through his body, waking instincts he didn't even know.

Nagisa had both hands clasped innocently behind his back, holding his knife firmly.

The demon stared at him with a look of shock and disgust. "You're faster than an angel should be. What demon's been meddling with you? I'll bet you that's why Asano has you locked up," the demon snarled, "but you won't get to find out. I'll finish you before you have a chance to screw up more."

"You can try," Nagisa hummed without thinking. The demon lunged.

All the sudden, Nagisa's surroundings seemed to blur, the demon coming into extreme focus. All the colors were sharpened, even with the dark lighting, like he was seeing through a filter.
The demon's moves felt easy to anticipate now, and Nagisa darted to the side, swishing his knife outwards as he spun.

A guttural cry sounded though the darkened cave as the holy metal hit its target. It felt like a habit now, like he always fought like this. Which he didn't. Normally this would've set off warning bells, but Nagisa was too distracted with trying to stay alive.

"God damn demons falling in love with angels," the wounded demon seethed, clutching his arm.

"What?" Nagisa tilted his head to the side curiously. Alert, albeit curious.

The demon eyed him wearily. "Are you stupid? It's hard to believe that, seeing you somehow got out of Asano's prison for you."

Nagisa twirled the knife. He wondered if the demon was just trying to keep him talking, but that was not at all what a demon would do in this situation. Even wary, they'd still strike with all of their arrogance and pride combined with their strength. Then when it was definitely certain they'd loose, they'd start sweet-talking.

"How does a demon falling in love with an angel have to do with this?" Nagisa asked the question, ignoring the demon's previous one.

The demon stared at him with those startling green eyes. "You really didn't know? When a demon and an angel fuck, parts of their strength, technique, and attitude mixes in to the other. Most demons hate doing that because it's frowned upon. Why would you gift power to an angel? So anyways, who was the idiot who fucked you?"

Nagisa winced at his use of words. "None of your business." He became a blur as he tried to attack the demon, lashing out with his knife.

The demon dodged. "It obviously wasn't a weak demon. Tell me, angel," he sneered.

Moves he'd never heard of before popped into his head, and before Nagisa could even fully process the moves, his body was executing them. And they were affective.

Merely seconds later, he had the demon trapped on the ground. I supposed it doesn't matter if he knows, since he'll be dead now, Nagisa thought with a wry grin.

Forcing a blindingly insane smile, Nagisa uttered the name of the person he'd given his heart to. "Karma Akabane."

The demon's eyes widened in shock, just as the knife Terasaka gifted to the angel was plunged deep into his chest. He too, disappeared into a puff of smoke.

Nagisa stood. He had a lot to discuss with Karma, but first was getting back to his lover.

Nagisa tucked away his new knife. "I'm coming home, Karma."

-

Karma tucked the gun into his jacket, shoving his hands in his pocket and heading outside. He appeared casual, like taking a trip to hell was no big deal.

Getting to hell was easy. All Karma had to do was let himself fall. Of course, there were a few complications. He had to be out of eyesight of any mortal. He also had to have enough energy to force the ground to crumble beneath him.

Check.

And check.

Closing his eyes, Karma reached a hand down. In a perfect circle around him, the grass began to die, crumbling to ashes at Karma's will. Then, he was falling.

When the demon landed, he found himself in the fiery depths of hell. It was quiet. Karma sighed. Finding his angel in here would be a bit of a chore.

"Being able to transform into a bat would be nice right now," Karma muttered, kicking a piece of obsidian.

He looked up. "Nagisa... I'll be the one proving to Asano you're mine."
