Nagisa cried out again as he was knocked to the ground, staring up at Karma's amused expression.

Nagisa slouched some more, pouting up with his blue eyes. "You enjoy watching me suffer."

Karma looked hurt. "Why would I enjoy watching you suffer? I just think you look cute when you try so hard."

Nagisa gave a glare that barely seemed threatening. "I'm trying to learn how to fight!"

Karma shrugged. "I have more practice than you." His eyes darkened. "We can go much harsher. After all, I can heal you remember?"

Nagisa blushed at the memory, recalling when Karma had used his power to heal the angel's wounds. It had felt strange and a bit uncomfortable, but it was a handy skill. He nodded. "Alright." Nagisa readied his knife.

Karma grinned, his eyes glittering. Then, he was gone. Nagisa wasn't sure if it was his demonic instincts or he'd just gotten more used to Karma's quick movements, but he could feel the demon's presence move this time. He spun sharply to the side, thrusting his knife in the direction of where he presumed Karma to be. The demon seemed to materialize out of nowhere, grinning as he stepped back to avoid the swing.

Taking advantage, Nagisa lunged forward. He realized his mistake the instant he did. Quickly, he threw up an energy shield, focusing all his energy on it. He forced himself to a messy stop and stayed completely still, watching the demon relax his stance.

Karma let out a dangerous laugh, circling the fallen angel like his prey. "Close. You're getting better; past you would've lunged without a second thought."

Nagisa eyed him with a blank expression, hiding the adrenaline simmering inside. "I realized my mistake."

Without a word of response, Karma lunged. Nagisa sped to the side, but an arm locked around him. "Not so fast~" Karma hummed.

The instant Karma's hand made contact with his skin, Nagisa frowned. How had he made it through his energy shield so easily?

Quickly, he smashed his head back and slipped sneakily out of his grasp, holding his knife out as he jumped back and stared at the demon. "How'd you pass my shield so quickly?"

Karma shrugged. "You should practice with that. For a demon with Asano or I's power, that shield is merely an annoyance. Plus, I had experience with it from you."

Nagisa narrowed his eyes, then pounced. Karma just barely reacted in time, moving quickly out of the way. However, Nagisa didn't stop there. He executed a somersault and drew his knife across Karma's calf.

The demon hissed out, but didn't falter as he landed a blow across Nagisa's face. The fallen angel winced, but drew in his concentration. He'd managed to injure Karma, which he was probably still in shock from.

Nagisa forced himself to get up, ignoring his spinning head. He rushed towards Karma, but his movements were already slowed. In a last attempt he threw his knife, wisely making sure his aim was no where near what could be a fatal hit.

Karma made an approving sound. "I like that tactic. But you're going to need to be faster, or do it less obviously. And don't practice on me," Karma added, "Not with that knife. I have no desire to go to heaven."

"What about a normal knife?"

Karma paused, a smile flickering over his face. "That would work." (Demons can get injured from holy weapons but normal weapons like guns and knives won't work)

Nagisa grinned. "Alright. We'll do that later. Can we keep working on hand-to-hand?"

Karma let out an exasperated sigh, worry shining just faintly in his golden eyes. "Why do you crave bruises so much?"

Nagisa looked defensive. "I want to train my energy shield."

Karma stepped closer. Still in their fighting mindset, Nagisa almost backed away before realizing they weren't in combat. He relaxed his concentration.

"You don't need to fight to work on your shield. I'll just distract you," Karma purred with a smirk, "and you can work on strengthening your shield."

Nagisa narrowed his eyes at the demon's sly grin. "Distract me huh?"
Closing his eyes, the fallen angel summon his shield.

A hand brushed against his shoulder and he forced the shield stronger, reaching out towards the energy. It pulsed, and he forced it together in a knot. Karma withdrew his hand and Nagisa opened his eyes.

"Better," Karma hummed, "but still passable." Without warning, his eyes took on a liquid, swirling state. It was almost hypnotic. Nagisa felt his heart flutter, and for a second he didn't even notice Karma's gentle touch stroke his hand gently.
Then he snapped out of it. This was the Karma that seduced his prey, one Nagisa was supposed to defend against. Again, he drew the strength back into the shield.

Karma shook his head in mock disappointment, silky red hair waving gently. "Slow. Falling for my charms?"
The taunt was lighthearted, but Nagisa frowned.

"Again." This time, Nagisa trieduuuuukkiih to look away. He succeeded, but he could feel the pull of Karma's own alluring energy, and trying to keep his gaze averted drew his concentration away.

"Look at me Nagisa~" Karma hummed, his words washing over the fallen angel like music. His hand trailed from his hand up his arm and to his cheek, resting there.

The fallen angel felt himself slowly give in to the command, when he noticed something. Despite the sweet words and hypnotic gaze, Karma's eyes were emotionless. His words held emotion that wasn't present in his eyes. Steeled by this, Nagisa flung all his hatred towards Asano into his shield, causing the knot of energy to spark.

Karma's eyes widened with true surprise, and he yanked his hand back. The cold look to them faded, and pride filled the chasm of gold.
"Nice!" He complimented.

Nagisa gave a nervous smile. "It worked?"

Karma nodded, then narrowed his eyes playfully. "How'd you get past my charm?"

Nagisa blushed at this. "I... well I looked into your eyes and saw the lack of emotion in them and I.. I was able to focus on my shield then."

Karma appeared thoughtful. "It was probably emotionless because my focus was on my charm. Not genuine love, which is what I feel for you," Karma flirted.

He reached out, noticing that Nagisa's shield was gone, and stroked his fallen angel's cheek lovingly. The furious blush on Nagisa's skin deepened. His ocean-blue eyes met Karma's, and he was relived to see the compassion shining in them. Content, Nagisa leaned into the touch.

Karma pulled his arms around Nagisa with a grin. "You'll never get away from me, Nagisa~"

Nagisa twisted towards him, gave a cute smile, and relaxed into his hold. "I think it's time for a break," he announced.
