Ciel's POV
I wonder what caused Jade to look so unsettled, what did this bastard do to her.

"Ciel what kind of woman do you enjoy, or are you mainly interested in the Lady Shadowhive."

I turned back to him and scowled, how dare he ask me a question like that. It was no business of his as to what i felt towards jade. Although i will admit to myself i find myself quite attracted to her compared to how i normally feel towards women.

"I am intrigued by intellect and find the ability to stand on your own attractive. Beauty is only as far as the woman allows you to see her in her natural state, i would much rather be with a woman who is not afraid to let her natural state shine than hide it away under masks and facades."

I see him smiling that cheap smile he wears when something amuses him, i do not care for his interest my main concern is in my guest that currently remains outside while i talk aimlessly to this moron. More and more people join us and we eventually move to a seated area where we regale each other in conversation about local events happening in london.

"Young master would you please excuse my absence for a moment?"

I turned and looked at Sebastian as he asked me his question.

"Return to me once your done, don't bore me with your tedious tasks."

I waved my hand at him as he bowed and left my side. I watched him take water to the patio. Wait did Lucius ask him to assist him with Jade? That stupid git! He should have told me Jade needed refreshment I should go to her.

"Lord Phantomhive why do you stare at the patio so much? Is there something that's caught your attention?"

I turned and saw another woman who decided to sit near me as she smiled at me politely. She was dressed as an egyptian princess or queen of some sort and had her hair braided into small ringlets as her hair fell and created a curtain around her sharply shaped face.

"I am intrigued by the decoration around the ballroom and i was just curious on what the outdoor decor would look like."

She seemed unimpressed with my answer as she turned to redirect her attention to the main group leaving me to my thoughts. If Jade needed me she would send someone for me. I shouldn't meddle in her affairs. I sighed as i turned my head and rested it against my fist as i sat my elbow on the arm of my chair. This party has lost the one thing that kept my interest and that was currently outside and away from my viewpoint. She provided me amusement with her sharp remarks on humanity and the philosophy that knowledge of others gave you power. I didn't disagree, in fact knowing dark secrets about others gave you a small amount of insurance to make sure you had them under your control. But that look she had, it seemed as if the energy and strength was being sapped by some invisible force and it looked as if she was going to collapse in front of my very eyes. I couldn't shake this feeling of concern for her as i sat here listening to these idiots talk about meaningless items.

"Young master."

I turned and saw Sebastian had returned to my side and he was smiling, what was making him so happy?

"What is it?"

"Lady Shadowhive's butler Lucius wishes to ask you a question."

I looked past him and saw Lucius standing a little distance behind him and i waved my hand for him to come closer. He came over to me and bowed slightly and then looked at me while having a slight smile across his lips.

"What do you need Lucius?"

"My mistress the Lady Shadowhive wishes for you to join her out on the Balcony. Will you be so kind as to let me escort you to her?"
