Jade's POV

We felt exhausted by the time we reached his manor, we stumbled into his room and i couldn't help but giggle as i watched Sebastian and Lucius carry in our wedding gifts. I walked over to the bed and sat down sighing happily only to be pulled into Ciel's arms and get my head kissed firmly and then held gently against his chest. My hand still held the small box my employee gave me, it was so small and delicate i was afraid it would be crushed under the larger gifts. I wonder what it was.. it was so small i guessed either a figurine or a piece of jewelry, i thought it would be odd to give jewelry at a wedding considering the only jewelry i cared about was my wedding ring.

"You've been fiddling with that box ever since you got it my love.."

He said with a chuckle as he kissed her cheek. Sebastian and Lucius finished putting the gifts down and then bowed to us giving us their congrats before departing. Only Lucius seemed a little hesitant as he stared at the box, what was odd is that he offered to place it with the other gifts, but if i was to open only one present tonight.. i wanted to open this one.. I shook my head and dismissed him, but he became insistent that i choose a different present. Both Ciel and I became annoyed, what was wrong with this gift? I looked down and began unwrapping the small ribbon around it and then opened the lid of the box only to gasp with a slight scream throwing it across the room.. It....i.. it couldn't be... It shouldn't be!!!

"My darling what's the matter? you look as if you saw a ghost."

Ciel held me tighter and rocked me gently as i stared at the box laying on the floor near the wall. I lifted my hand out and said timidly.

"L... Lucius... i.. is that."

"Yes mistress.. it is.."

He bent down and picked up the box in his hand. He came over and i felt like i wanted to run.. but Ciel's arms held me down as Lucius knelt before me and opened the box again to reveal... Elsie's ring.. the silver fox ring she gave me for my birthday.. I had told her to keep it for me instead because i already had our family fox ring.. While i was getting ready for the ball Elsie was insistent that i wore the silver ring for her.. I never could say no to her so i did, but the ring was so loose on my finger i remembered how i had to check to make sure it was still there throughout the night. I took the ring gently in my hands and felt tears well in my eyes.

"H.. how.."

"There's a note in the box.."

Ciel had said softly as he took the small piece of paper out. he unfolded it and began reading out loud to me as i stared in shock at the small ring in my hands.

Dear Lady Shadowhive, or should I say Phantomhive. I guess you got married, so that means your moving on? Well here's a little something me and my boys found while fishing in the river where I DROPPED!!! Your sweet lovable and i must say charming and feisty sister Elsie. That's right mum, its me.. I bet you thought i forgot all about you didn't you. Well you'd be wrong, I've been waiting for you to get all happy again so that I could remind you of the one person you let down most. Happy wedding night and many blessings upon the both of you, Im just glad i can give you back the thing you lost all those years ago.
Warmest regards, Man with the Scar.

My head lifted up and I snatched the letter from Ciel re-reading it over and over again.. it was him.. he was in my grasp and i let him go.. I felt anger boiling inside me from letting myself get tricked by him again.

"My darling... "

Ciel's soft voice echoed in my ears and I looked at him sadly saying.

"It was him...at our wedding.. the man who killed Elsie.. it w-"

I found myself crying now as i spoke to him and i turned around hugging him tightly and burying my face in his chest as i wept from the painful memories that emerged again. He gently rubbed my back and kissed my head softly as he soothed me. Just like a husband should.. no just like a lover should.. I must have been crying for a while or Ciel must have made him leave because Lucius was no longer in the room with us, it was only me and Ciel. My impatience with opening a gift for tonight ruined what should have been a happy night for us..

"Ciel i'm so sorry..."

He chuckled and kissed my head again before tilting my chin up and smiling.

"There isn't a reason for you to say sorry.. this is a painful memory for you and i am here to help you through it.. I am your husband now and there is nothing you can do now to upset me.. don't worry yourself and just try to calm down.. Tomorrow is a new day, so perhaps we should get some sleep."

"I can't sleep.. the memories won't stop coming.. its like a horrible cruel replay in my brain that i can't stop."

"Then i will sit here and hold you until you do fall asleep. Nothing can harm you while I'm here.."

He kissed my head again and then laid back on the bed with a slight groan. I had my head resting upon his chest, we didn't even bother changing our clothes, we just laid there in the bed. His arms were wrapped around me and his heart beat echoed in my ear like a soft lullaby. My eyes were growing heavy and eventually I fell into a deep sleep in the arms of my new beloved husband.

Lucius's POV
So much for the wedding night.. I knew that there wasn't anyway she was going to be in a mood for that after opening that present... I sighed as i laid back on the bed of my room, my head rested in my hand upon the pillow. Nothing to do in this manor... nothing at all. I don't want to talk to Michaelis either so i'm left to sit in this bed while my mistress sat in the arms of that human horrified at the arrival of the gift. What did he plan to do in order to keep her calm.. He didn't know where to rub her back, or what note to hum to send her to sleep.. It should have been me in that bed with her not some puny twit..Easy now Dracovich, if you keep imagining bad things about the Lord Phantomhive. You may inadvertently drown him in his sleep. Would that be so horrible Michaelis..It would be a waste of a marriage. His chuckled echoed in my head and I sighed, even when i was avoiding the stupid crow he managed to annoy me. So now I'm stupid? Now I understood how Jade felt when i read her mind. Yes Sebastian your getting on my nerves and annoying me. That to me is the definition of stupidity. So if you don't mind i would like to try and fake sleep in an attempt at actually gaining some rest from this chaotic and hectic day. You just want me to leave you alone so you can imagine Jade in your arms again. Well since the young master is having her belongings delivered here on the morrow, I doubt you and Lady Jade will find much time to fraternize with each other. She is a married woman now Dracovich, its time to end your chase. I chuckled to myself as he tried to sway my thoughts. No... the chase was just beginning.. I wasn't the one who had to chase after Jade anymore. Now the race was narrowed to me and her husband. I said the word husband loosely in my mind because the thought of that boy being her husband was unsettling and made me want to vomit. This stupid feeling of jealousy was going to be the death of me one way or another.. I was either going to decapitate the boy and be shunned away by Jade as well as the society she associates herself with. Or I would live out this marriage trading secret kisses on the side all the while helping her track down and find the man who murdered her sister... Thoughts like these swarmed my mind and prevented any slight form of sleep from coming to me and I spent my night staring a hole into the ceiling above me.
