Jade's POV
I turned my head around in order to look at the road behind me as i rode in the carriage that was being driven by Sebastian. The manor was long gone from my sight but i had to find a way to avoid looking at Lucius as he sat across from me. There was nothing but silence between us as the countryside went by and the sound of the wheels and horses hooves were the only thing that filled my ears. I sighed and then turned my head back to gaze out my window while resting my chin upon my hand with my fingers cupping the lower part of my cheek. I felt a sense of nostalgia wash over me as i looked blankly at the trees and wild flowers filling the landscape. I was feeling slightly disappointed in the fact i was unable to gain information on Madame Red, but i was also processing the new facts i gained from that embellished conversation with the viscount. Although i felt slightly irritated as i thought of all the words he used in our conversation, he used so many words to repeat the same phrase that i felt bored the entire time he spoke. It was like listening to someone try and describe a painting of butterflies by using every word in the known language besides the actual word butterfly. My head was spinning with all the adjectives and comparisons he had thrown at me and i was getting a raging headache the more the conversation replayed in my mind. I sighed audibly and noticed Lucius tilt his head from the corner of my eye as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Young mistress is there something troubling you?"

I closed my fist as i turned my head to look at him never removing my chin from my hand as i spoke in a tone that sounded exhausted. Which i was but not physically so much as it was mentally from having to decipher each of his words.

"I will say one thing about the Viscount that was absolutely true and that is his exuberant amount of words to say a simple sentence. I feel my head swelling from hearing all the words he used during breakfast, and i feel fatigued from having to listen to his nonsense. Do men like him honestly believe that a woman can be swept off her feet by using such embellished phrases. If it hadn't been for Ciel interrupting him, i think i would have snapped from hearing such nonsense."

I turned my gaze back to the window with a snort of derision as i finished my small rant about the Lord Druitt. I could feel my anger raised and noticed the small sound of laughing coming from my butler as he listened to me.

"What are you snickering about you stupid git?"

He smiled at me almost mockingly as i looked back at him even more annoyed. I felt the carriage come to a stop and then looked to see that we had arrived at my estate. Everything was in order and my servants were waiting in a line outside the door as they were required to whenever i was returning from a stay away from home. Lucius opened the door and helped me step down as Sebastian unloaded my luggage and handed it to my servants. My head maid bowed her head to me as she spoke.

"My lady we are glad you made it back home safely. The house is cleaned to sparkling and there is a fresh pot of rose tea waiting for you in the study as requested."

"Thank you Natalia, you are dismissed and free to go about your work."

My servants all bowed to me and left in a hurry to continue working around the grounds as Natalia began dictating orders. I felt the corners of my mouth lift up slightly as i smiled at this in amusement. Sebastian said goodbye and then left the manor back to his master as Lucius escorted me to my study. When my doors opened to my study i felt a sense of ease fall upon me as i entered the room. The fire was lit and slowly growing in my fireplace and i saw on the small table a few feet away from it the pot of tea with small cookies on a plate. I walked over to the small sofa and sat down while Lucius poured the tea into a cup and added milk and sugar to my liking before handing it to me. I sipped it slowly, savoring the smooth blend wash over my taste buds and warm my body as it travelled down my throat. It was sweet smelling and yet had a subtle flavor to it, the milk enriched it as did the sugar making it an ideal drink after a long travel. The sound of the wood crackling and pop intermittently set me at ease as i kept my eyes closed to allow the serenity of the silence to soak in and attempt at settling my raging mind.
