Ciel's POV
The kiss from last night still lingered on my lips as i waited for her to come into the dining room... today she would be leaving for her manor and i did not know the next time i would see her. My heart felt heavy at this, and with the weight of my aunt's death on my conscious i was finding it hard to lift my eyes from the empty plate before me. But something disturbed my thoughts. A delicate touch upon my shoulders and a kiss upon my head awakened me to acknowledge that my beloved had entered the room and saw me in such a pensive state.
"You seem troubled... might i inquire as to what causes you to look so glum?"
I turned in my chair and saw her hair was pulled into a high ponytail and descended in soft curls and waves as she smiled at me sweetly. She was dressed in a pale pink gown that hung from her body loosely. It fell all the way to her feet and the sleeves were draping her upper arms in a semi-loose scarf. I took her hand in mine and kissed it lightly as i spoke to her in a softened voice.
"I have some rather unfortunate news on my mind. You see, my aunt she passed away last night. I am just a little shaken."
Her eyes softened as she knelt beside me and kept my hand in hers. She was on the floor on her knees and her dress was draped over her legs in a slightly outstretched circle and she was looking at me so sympathetically. If she knew she died after trying to kill me, i wonder if her sympathy would still stand towards the loss of family which was dwindling away.
"I am so sorry that you have lost your aunt, i saw that you two were close and i suppose she was like a mother to you since you lost yours."
She kissed my hand softly after she finished speaking, but the truth was i was no closer to my aunt than i was to any of the family that i had left. She was the only one to actually persist on frequent visits to see if i was alright, yet the look of compassion in my aunts eyes when she dropped her dagger burned into my mind. I lifted Jade off the ground and tilted her face to look at mine as i spoke quietly.
"I do not know if i would consider her as a mother, but she was dear.. she was the last of my relatives who visited me. I think i would miss her more than i would miss other family..."
She pressed a finger to my lips silencing me as she smiled and spoke.
"You do not need to explain yourself to me.... i know the process of grief, come.. i wish to show you something..."
She tugged on my hands forcing me to stand and walk after her as she guided me through the house and towards the door.
"Young master. young mistress."
We stopped just in front of the door as Lucius and Sebastian spoke to us, what on earth did they want? She was going to show me something and Sebastian was interrupting us yet again...
"What do you want Sebastian.."
"Would you like me to come with you or fetch your coat?"
Lucius was speaking to Jade and she looked very annoyed at him as she turned her back to him as he bowed.
"No, you will stay here with Lucius until i return. If i need you i will summon you."
I took Jade's hand again and we exited my home and began walking down the street side by side, hand in hand in the morning light of london.
Jade's POV
Ciel felt saddened by the loss of his aunt, so i might as well share in his sorrow and show him the one thing that made me dwell in misery every time i gazed upon it. We held hands the entire walk until we made it to the bank of the river, when we reached it he inquired as to why we were there.
