Jade's POV

So this is the Trancy home, it's quite large but what i think is the most impressive to me is the amount of Halloween decoration that's covering it. Clearly this lord is trying to make a statement, either way i'll need to make many notes of his behavior and tendencies during the encounter i'll share with him tonight. If he is as eccentric as his decorations then his file may become quite interesting.

"Jade?"

I saw Ciel looking at me with a look of curiousness as if he was trying to read my thoughts, but only Lucius could do that and i was thankful he did not know i was thinking of Trancy while sitting here with him. Although a little jealousy never hurt anyone.

"Yes Ciel?"

"Have you ever met the Earl Trancy before?"

"No, have you?"

"I have on a few occasions, i do not overly enjoy his company. He comes off very strong and is quite pushy, if he starts bothering you just tell me and we can leave."

Why on earth is he being so protective over me? It's not like the Earl is going to maul me when i enter the door, he will have plenty of guests to entertain.

"Ciel, don't worry yourself so much. If there is a problem i'm sure i can handle it, look we are at the doors let's have fun all right."

I smiled at him reassuringly and watched as Lucius opened our door. Ciel stepped out first and then helped me down and held my hand firmly. Once i was out of the coach he didn't let go of my hand instead he linked my arm through his and guided me towards the doors like the other guests were. People looked at us and i saw that they whispered once we entered the large doors of the manor. I could hear music coming from the right of us and i pulled on Ciel's arm guiding him to follow the crowd as we made our way to the grand ballroom. It was even more lavishly decorated than the exterior of the house. Tables were filled with sweets and foods that reminded me of mythical creatures, large mugs surrounded a punch bowl that had small pumpkins floating inside as guests danced on the floor in their costumes. The room was lit like a bright candle as drapes of orange and silver webs adorned the room. I felt like i entered a fairy book where everything was halloween. I had been to many balls, but this was absolutely nerve racking, i couldn't maintain my focus as more intricate decorations caught my attention and reminded me of folk tales.

"Is the Earl Trancy a fan of Halloween, Ciel?"

I asked him quite curiously as he didn't even seem bothered by the over decorated ambience around us. He chuckled as he brought me over to the punch table and picked up one of the large mugs.

"Every party i've ever attended that's been hosted by Alois Trancy, i never see a lack of decoration. He is very eccentric and likes to make sure that his guests are as astounded by his decorations as they are by the entertainment he provides in the latter part of the evening."

I took one of the mugs he handed to me and sipped the cold liquid inside. It was very strong and tasted of spiced apple and pumpkin punch. It was very good but i could tell there was a certain amount of champagne in this drink. He held his mug up and i couldn't help but start laughing as he looked like a true pirate, all that was missing was for him to say 'Aargh'.

"What's so funny Jade?"

"When you hold that mug up, it makes you look even more like a pirate. I'm just waiting for you to say 'Aargh' or something pirate like. It's quite an amusing sight."

He began laughing at me as i spoke and then clinked his mug with mine and probably for my own amusement he said 'aargh' after which we were both laughing at our foolishness as we stood to the side while other costumed guests danced to the music being played by the band.

"Well since you've complimented me numerous times on my costume, i feel it is only fair that i compliment yours in return, but you have not done anything witch like as for me to make a note on."

He took another sip of his drink as i sat there looking at him quite smug.

"How do you know i haven't put a spell on you my dear Ciel? I could have put a potion in your punch that could cause you to want to dance and you would be none the wiser."

I took another sip of my drink after saying my childish remark. He chuckled softly and then he looked shocked or stunned as if something rather unpleasant crossed his view. He was looking at something behind me and when i turned to look he put his drink down and then took my hand in his. What was he doing? He began pulling me across the floor and i was barely able to put my drink down as we walked across the room through the string of bodies.

"Ciel, what are you doing?"

I pulled against his hand as i was rather annoyed at this sudden impulse to drag me around like a doll. We weaved our way around the dancers and I was soon pulled against him as he put a hand upon my waist.

"I'm going to dance with you, it's like you said, you put a potion in my drink and now you will dance with me until it wears off."

I looked at him and felt a burning in my cheeks as we began moving across the floor, a new dance had begun and this one was a dance i never danced before. I rested my hand on his shoulder as we tried to match the rhythm of the music around us, we looked foolish and we were for trying to just jump into the dance. I stared into his face as he looked back into mine, we spun and glided gracefully across the floor as we began matching each other's steps in perfect timing. We seemed to pick up speed as he twirled me around in a circle and then pull me against him once more this time we were closer than our original placing. I could almost hear his breath as our eyes were locked on to the others. The world vanished from around us as we only focused on dancing to the sound of the music that filled our ears. Something was different about the way he looked at me, this time i could see he had something hidden on his mind as he gazed at me. Each time he spun me around with him i could feel as if he was trying to hide me from someones view. The music began picking up tempo and I felt him spin me out and then twirl me around as he pulled me back into his arms. Our faces were only inches from each other's as we moved faster in our steps. My heart must have been beating a hundred miles a minute as my body was against his, there was barely any room to step as we began to slow down with the music. He spun me around once more and then the distance was more breathable between us as the music began to fade away. He bowed to me and that was when i realized the dance was over. I hadn't even known that two eyes were watching us the entire time we danced.

"My lady you are blushing a bright red, are you feeling all right?"

His voice snapped me out of my thoughts as Ciel asked me his question.

"Yes I'm all right, I've never had such an impressive dance partner before. You swept me off my feet as most would say, although i would appreciate a warning the next time we are going to dance. I had a bit of a struggle in the beginning when we first joined in."

He smiled and laughed softly as he took my hand and brought me over to the side and said teasingly.

"But if i had told you i was going to dance with you, then i wouldn't have gotten to see that adorable look of confusion you wore so well. You are a talented dancer Jade and i look forward to when we can dance again."

I felt my cheeks flush again at his compliment and then i saw drinks being held out to us, and it was none other than Lucius.

"My Lady that was quite the dance you performed out there, I brought you some refreshment in case you were thirsty."

"Thank you Lucius, tell me where is our mysterious host. I have yet to be greeted by him so far, have you seen him Ciel?"

I took the mug off the tray Lucius held and sipped the cooling mixture after asking my question. Normally it was customary for the host to greet each of his guests at the beginning of the party. It was considered quite rude to ignore your invited guests.

"That would be because Lord Ciel is trying to hide his mysterious dance partner."

I turned as a new voice caught my attention and i saw a boy with blonde hair and ice blue eyes approach us dressed in what reminded me of a gang members suit.

"Allow me to introduce myself, I am Earl Alois Trancy the host of this costumed ball, it is quite a privilege to meet such a beautiful young lady."
