The Fox and the Guard Dog

Ciel's POV

So this is the estate of the Queen's Fox, hmm it doesn't seem any different than any other country home i've seen. I wonder why the queen has requested i have tea with this Fox. What could i possibly gain from this experience, but orders are orders and i will try and enjoy his company as much as possible.

"Young master."

I turned as i heard his voice ring in my ears.

"What is it Sebastian?"

"You seem to be in a very deep state of thought, may i ask what is troubling you so?"

"I just dont see why the queen want's me to meet her fox is all, i see no experience i could gain from meeting him."

"My lord you seem to be mistaken, i don't believe the fox is a man. From what i heard the fox is a young woman, around your age i believe and since your engagement to miss Elizabeth is no longer existing perhaps the queen is trying to make sure her guard dog isn't lonely."

I turned and looked at the sly demon who walked beside me, what did he mean the fox was a woman. A female fox is a vixen, so this fox had to be a male, then again demons cannot lie. Even if his engagement was off, why would the queen insist on setting him up on blind dates, that wasn't like her at all. Either way i still don't see a real purpose in this meeting at all.

"Don't mention Elizabeth in her presence, the engagement is off and she is soon to be married to another so she is of no importance to me now."

"Yes my young lord."

The whole house seems to sparkle as if it was just polished with fresh paint, how remarkable their staff must be very diligent in maintenance.

I raised my hand and knocked on the door three times as we waited outside the large doors of the Shadowhive Estate.

Lucius's POV

The door is being knocked upon and my lady hears it as well. I watch as Jade moves across the room and sits down in her chair that is angled perfectly to the door as to where the lighting compliments her quite graciously in order to seduce her guests from the moment they enter. She pulled out a book written by Edgar Allan Poe and began reading as she spoke.

"Go and answer the door Lucius, bring our guest to me so that i may escort him to the garden for tea."

"As you wish mistress."

I left the living room and approached the large wooden doors and opened them to see a young man of about 5' 9" in stature, around the same age as my mistress. His butler wasn't quite as tall as me but he had a strange essence about him, ahh yes another demon how quaint perhaps my lady will have things in common with this suitor.

"Greetings Lord Phantomhive, my mistress welcomes you to her home, please allow me to escort you to the living room. She wishes to take you to the garden herself, but is quite taken in her book that she did not hear the door."

The young man walked in with his butler close behind him as i shut the door. I walked ahead of them as i guided them into the living room and opened the door into the room my lady was residing in.

"Young mistress, your guest has arrived."

The young boy looked as if he was about to speak before my mistress set her book down and stood from her seat allowing the earl to see her in full stature. He seemed to stagger a bit as she walked over to him slowly with a small delicate smile across her lips.

"Sir i welcome you to my humble home, my name is Jade Shadowhive and its a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

She curtsied with a bow while keeping her posture straight as she addressed the young man with grace and poise.
