Two In A Million

Chapter 21

My heart races. I did not expect her to feel the same at all. My grin spreads from ear to ear.

I turn off my phone, and roll over. I am so looking forward to our date.

2 days later

I wake to my phone getting spammed with texts from Rose.

It's the day

I laugh, sitting up in the bed.
I'm up! Relax!

Good. I'll be there in an hour, pack up your bags and we'll head into town!

I jump up, tearing off my sheets. Tessa is laying on her side, scrolling through her phone.

"Up already?" She says, glancing at the clock.
"It's only 9:30! That's not very early." I defend. She looks up me like I kicked a puppy,"Why would you wake up before 10 on a NO SCHOOL DAY!"

I laugh, starting to pack up my clothes and toiletries. I'd pretty quick, so all my things for the weekend are packed within 15 minutes. I change into black leggings and boots, and a red sweater and scarf.

With my extra time, I make a few eggs for Tessa, knowing she's too lazy to make anything for breakfast.

By the time I'm done, there is only ten minutes till we leave, so I grab my 2 bags and head over to Rose's room.

I knock in pattern, and her roommate opens it. She has dark, almost black hair, and purple eyes.

I smile,"Hi! Is R-" before I can finish, Rose pops up behind her. "I'm all ready Lila! Let's go!" She says, pushing her way through the door.

I give her a look, wondering why she was so reluctant to get her room mate involved. She just grabs my hand and we jog out to the cars.

"Sorry. She's kinda odd. And whenever you start talking to her she never stops." Rose says. 

I laugh,"It's fine, I get it."

We walk up to the man working at the travel supervision booth, and get keys for a small car. They let us use cars with trackers when we want to go somewhere. 

Rose gets in the drivers seat, while I toss our bags in the backseat.

I hop in front. "Ok, I have the hotel booked, and some tours. I also got us prepaid reservations for dinner tonight, and tommorow."

Rose laughs,"You are way more organized than I'll ever be."

I blush,"I'm not usually like this, it's just that I wanted everything to be perfect for you."

She smiles,"You are so sweet. And cute when you're embarrassed." Rose boops my nose.

"Let's get going." I say. She pulls out, and follows the gps to our hotel. It isn't too far.

"Right now, I really wish I had teleportation." Rose says. I laugh,"You said it girl. After I discovered this whole new world, cars seemed so stupid."

"Exactly what I thought."

It gets quiet for a while. Suddenly, I hear a voice.

Tessa.

I keep my mind clear, wondering who it is.

Tessa. Get up. I need you to keep working.

It takes me a moment to realize who's talking. Our mother.

I know you love her, but we need to work on getting me out.

My heart skips a beat. She's trying to get her out of prison?

Yes, buys it's for the greater good.

After that I don't hear anything else.

"Lila?" Rose says, pulling over. My words are caught in my throat for a minute.

"Lila what's wrong." Rose looks so scared.

I finally pull my heads out of the clouds. "Rose."

She looks at me,"Honey your face is white, you're eyes... Lila are you ok?"

I glance in the mirror, noticing my eyes flaming. "Rose. Tessa. Shes... she's trying to get our mom  out from prison." I say, the whole concept still perplexing me.

Rose gasps,"Should we go back? I don't want it stressing you out."

I shake my head,"No. We already planned this weekend, and it had to have been a misunderstanding."

She looks at me, obviously knowing I don't support my words, but starts driving again. I stare out the window the rest of the way. Could my twin really be plotting against me, and against everyone?
