The next day, I went a little over board with the fashionably late thing.
Mother-nature wasn't exactly on my side either but who was I kidding? – I had no plans of getting near that pool anyway.
By the time Karyn and I showed up, it had started raining and the guests that weren't upset and leaving migrated into the house not letting anything ruin their night. The DJ even broke down his equipment and moved it inside. They sure did pick the right place to have this party because disturbing the peace would've been an understatement if the next house wasn't miles away.
We weren't even there for more than an hour and Karyn fled my side once some cutie came up and started talking to her. I didn't know where the hell she was at the moment but hopefully she wasn't doing anything stupid. I looked around and took a sip from the cup of Absolute she'd left me with.
"He must really think you're special." Malik's fiancé, Tarja smiled referring to you know who. "As long as I've known him, he's never brought any of his 'girlfriends' around."
Jay and the guys had left us alone for a while and that's when she took it upon herself to spark up a conversation and try to befriend me. I didn't mind, she seemed pretty cool and her style was very similar to mine. I just knew she had to be a model though. She was tall and drop dead gorgeous; resembling Kimora Lee with her dark chinky eyes and long black hair.
I couldn't take my eyes off of the huge diamond on her ring finger. Malik was obviously doing right by her. The funny thing is, I'd prejudged her the minute I walked in here and saw her talking and smiling all up in Jay's face. Of course I'd jumped to conclusions but we all know I had a bad habit of thinking negatively.
The first person that came to mind when I saw the two of them was that thirsty trick Nichole. I had no idea what the girl looked like but I just knew that had to be her. Thank god, I was wrong.
I was hoping Jay had enough sense not to invite us both to the same event but now after letting Tarja's comment play out in my head for a minute, I wouldn't even have to worry about that since he 'rarely' brought anyone else around like this.
The beat of 2 Pistol's "She Got It" featuring T-Pain pumped through the hardwood floor sending a chill up my spine.
"Ah! This is my song, what!" I laughed and watched Tarja throw her hands up in the air; the bangles on her wrists loudly clinking together with every move she made.
I shook my head and felt my phone vibrating in my purse before I attempted to look for it. Shuffling through all of the junk with my one free hand I couldn't help but curse myself for not leaving the whole thing in the car.
I finally came across my phone and saw that I had a text from Jay saying to meet him upstairs. I couldn't help but laugh. Real cute, I knew he was around here somewhere watching my reaction.
I replied back with a simple 'Nope' and a smiley face. Five minutes later I felt a pair of arms embracing me from behind and swaying to the music.
"Come on, lemme holla atchu for a minute." Jay whispered in my ear and forced me to move my legs towards the stair case.
