After spending half of the afternoon at the mall with Kelly, I found something simple yet sexy enough for the occasion. Kelly still had some persuading to do but the choice I ran with wasn't nearly as bad as the first two she picked out.

I guess Jay was feeling the dress too cause he wouldn't stop complementing me. I made a mental note to call Kells once I got back home and thank her.

He ended up taking me to this really nice Italian Restaurant down town. Once we walked in, the hostess took his name and we sat down on the little couch to the side. While we waited I looked around admiring the authentic feel the place had going. There were old paintings everywhere and music playing. Ruby Tuesdays and Olive Garden couldn't hold a candle to this place. I was in awe.

"You aight?" Jay asked.

"I'm fine. This place is just really beautiful." I was still taking it all in.

"What were you expecting?"

Definitely not this, I was use to being treated so average. McDonalds probably would have been okay with me as long as he didn't hype it up like we were going all out.

I just shrugged noticing two older women in the waiting area staring at us and smiling in the midst of their little conversation. Weather they were talking about us or not- I have no idea but they could've been a little more discrete about it with all the staring.

"I really like your hair like that."

My thoughts were interrupted when I realized Jay was still staring at me. I'd gotten rid of the curls and went for a straighter look with a little swoop in the front. "This is your real hair right?" he joked.

I felt his hand tussling around in my hair and giving my scalp a quick feel before I slapped his leg and laughed.

"I'm just making sure but I see it's all natural so you good." He said smoothly in a low tone. "Makes shit a lot easier if I get the urge to pull on it."

I cut my eyes at him so quick while he tried not to laugh. "What did I tell you about playin all the time?"

"I aint playin, I'm just letting you know."

I rolled my eyes in a playful manner and he squeezed my side. "You know I'm just joking with you...well partially." He chuckled.

"Carter?" The hostess announced and we stood up. "You can follow me."

She led the way to a booth near the window and set our menus down. "Someone will be with you shortly."

She wasn't lying either. We weren't even settled in our seats yet before the waiter showed up telling us his name; Armando. His accent was too cute and I already knew I was going to have some fun trying to pronounce it the exact same way he did. He recited a little speech on the specials they had and gave us some time to look over the menus.

After a few minutes of checking out the high priced entrees I settled on the Chicken Alfredo while Jay went with the Spaghetti. In all honesty, I was starving and eyeing the garlic bread on the table like crazy. I wouldn't dare touch it though- And have my breath hummin for the rest of the night? Hell No. I was just praying we were on the same level with that idea. Luckily he didn't pay it any attention either.

Jay POV

I felt my phone vibrating like crazy and pressed the ignore button on Nichole for the hundreth time that night. She'd really lost her mind and I'd have to deal with her nonsense later but as of right now my time was devoted to the beautiful being sitting in front of me. This girl really had no idea of the affect she had on me and to be honest the shit actually scared me.
