"They think what?!"

"Yeah."

I went to John's house after school to tell him what was going on at school and to check on him.

"But you're not. You're not right?"

"No! Johnathan, we haven't had sex, it's not possible!"

"Right right. Ok, so what do we do?"

"What do you mean? We don't do anything. I just wanted to let you know what was being said that way you didn't think I was cheating on you or something."

His eye widened.

"John! Im not cheating on you!

"Sorry there's a lot going on right now, but you're sure? Not pregnant, not cheating?"

I rolled my eyes and picked up my bag. He was getting on my nerves. "I'll talk to you later."

"Where are you going?" He asked like he was tired of my attitude not like he genuinely what to know.

"Home."

"Cameron, I don't want to fight with you right now or at all. Come here." I turned around to face him, my arms crossed in front of my chest.

"Please." He laid his head on the couch.

"Why should I?"

"Because I'm in pain and I'm pretty sure you're the only thing that's going to make it go away."

I scrunched my nose up at his super cliche statement. He smiled at me and I eventually gave in. He opened his arms and I sat down next to him. He wrapped his arms around me but I didn't return the hug.

"You're just gonna sit here and- and be mad at me?"

I kept my head forward. "I'm not mad, you're just really getting on my nerves."

"You seem pretty mad."

"I'm not. Youre just really annoying" He leaned back against the arm of the couch so he could see my face and I cut my eyes up at him. Even sitting down he was taller than me.

"Well, I'm sorry for being so annoying."

"No, you're not. You just saying it so I'll stop being annoyed."

He kissed my temple and turned on the tv. "Ok babe."

I slid to the end of the couch and put my legs up on Johnathan's lap. I took the blanket hanging on the back of the couch and wrapped it around my body.

We watched the old Power Puff Girls on Netflix, my choice. He surprisingly didn't fight me on it. I guess he really was trying not to be annoying.

About half a season in he wandered to my side of the couch. He laid between my legs and rested his head on my chest but didn't say anything.

"I've missed you," he finally muttered. "My mom was here for half the day, but left because of some work emergency, so I wasn't completely alone but it felt like I was because you weren't here."

"I'm not annoyed anymore, you can stop kissing my ass."

He tilted his head up at me. "I'm being serious. I had gotten so used to waking up to you basically next to me. I missed you."

I played with one of the curls in his hair. "Well, I'm here now."

"Don't leave ok?"

"I have to go home eventually-"

"No, I know that I just- don't leave me. I would be a mess if you did."

Where was this coming from? I wasn't mad at him. I was nowhere close to leaving him.

"I- I won't. I promise. Where is this coming from?"

I felt his arms wrap around my waist tighter as he let out a deep sigh. I pushed his hair, that was getting long, back so I could see his eyes. They were closed. He fell asleep.

I sighed and kissed the top of his head.

"I promise."
