~♡ Megan's POV ♡
"So you guys are... how do I put this-"
"Yes Matt, we broke up. At least, I think so." I thought back to our huge argument in the halls right before class started. His last comment was, "If anybody asks, I broke up with you."
"What do you mean you think so?" Matt asked, his tone changing from relieved to a questioning tone.
"No, it's not like that. I mean, I had to end things because he said he, and I quote, 'never said we were done'." I shook my head, looking down at the ground, and back up at Matt. His smile was huge as he stepped closer to me, my back pressed against my car. His hands rested on my hips as he leaned in, his hot breath fanning my face.
"So I get to have you all to myself again, correct?" I just shrugged, looking into his eyes with a small smirk. I slowly brought my hands up to wrap around his neck, my hands hanging as I pulled him closer to me.
"Define all to yourself," I said with a small smirk, playing with the ends of his hair. He inhaled and exhaled deeply, a small smile on his face as he began talking.
"I mean, I don't have to share you with anyone anymore. I can take you on the cute dates you desire, kiss you in public to show everyone that you're mine, hug you from behind, surprise you in front of your friends, get jealous whenever you hang out with other guys, and get to spend our alone time doing this." He brought his hands up to cup my cheeks as he closed the gap between us with a kiss. It was slow and loving, unlike some of our recent rougher kisses. His lips moved sweetly against mine, and pulled away with a smile on his face. His lips lingered for a few more seconds as he pecked my lips one last time and separated our lips.
"I like the sound of that," I smiled, a grin on his face as he leaned in to kiss me again. I pressed a finger against his lips, pushing him away a little with a laugh. "Woah, slow your role. We're not together right now." He grinned at me, shuffling around in his backpack. He pulled out another ring that was simpler, a small silver ring with a knot in the middle. Similar to the first, minus the diamonds.
"Let's do this again," he chuckled, getting down to his knees in front of me. My eyes widened as a smile grew to my face, my hands instinctively coming up to cover my mouth in awe. "Megan Grey, I promise you that this time will be different. This time I will love you unconditionally with no doubt about it. Will you do me the honors of giving me a second chance and being my girlfriend?"
A smile broke out on my face as I nodded, wrapping my arms around his neck tightly. He picked me up and spun me around in the school parking a lot, looking up at me. "I missed you so much."
Matt smiled, putting me down on my feet. He smiled at me, taking right hands and holding out the ring. "I believe this belongs to you," he smiled, sliding the ring onto the ring finger on my right hand. I admired it slightly before hugging him once again.
