Matt's POV :)

"Oh Kayla, come on!" I groaned, sitting outside of the bathroom door. The sound of hairspray being sprayed was heard from outside, making me internally groan.

"Just a second. I'll be out in a second, babe!" Kayla called out from the other side of the door.

"You said that forty five minutes ago," I muttered, standing up to walk outside.

"It takes time to look this hot," she replied sarcastically, followed by the sound of her tumbling through her makeup. I said nothing, walking away from the bathroom and out the door. I decided to wait in my chair, starting the engine and sitting back in my chair.

I turned on the radio, a slow beat playing. The music started to go, and then the sound of Ed Sheehan's voice follows the car. I instantly recognized the song, closing my eyes and sighing contently. Happy thoughts.

"I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know," she sang under her breath as we drove away from the Florida coastline. I held her hand with my free hand, smiling. She smiled at me. "She shares my dreams I hope that someday, I'll share her own," she continued.

"You're so beautiful," I commented, rolling down the windows to let the wind cool ya down.

She simply smiled, continuing the chorus. "Dancing in the dark, with you between my arms." She danced with the song, her volume increasing as she grew more passionate. She turned to gave me. "Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song, right where we belong."

"I have faith in what I see and I now know I have met an angel in person," I sang, glancing at the smile growing bigger on her face. I pulled into the parking lot of the coffeehouse, parking. "And she looks perfect. I don't deserve it, you look perfect tonight."

I pushed the hair behind her and finally kissed her. When we pulled away she smiled, closing her eyes.

"You just kissed me, Matt."

"Yes, I did kiss you, Megan."

"That was our first kiss," she blushed.

"And it was perfect," I smiled, kissing her again.

"Hello? Matt!" I was brought back to reality by a series of loud knocks on the window and the car's door handle being jiggled severely. The song had finished a while ago, but my thoughts managed to get the best of me. I sat up, reaching across to unlock the passenger door.

"Finally," she breathed, slipping into her seat and letting out a breath. She looked over at me, a smile finally settling on her lips. "Hey there, baby." She leaned in for a kiss, and I turned my head to peck her cheek. My lips lingered before I backed away to admire her, or at least attempt to.

I tried to find something, but all I could think about was Megan and just imagining how amazing she's going to look tonight. I blinked and Kayla was still sitting there, smirking.

"Take a picture, sweetie, it'll last longer." I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, trying to find something I liked. When I couldn't, it was clear that I just wasn't attracted to her like I was 7 months ago.

I retreated to the oldest line in the book. "You look beautiful tonight," I said, barely above a whisper, with a smile on my lips. She smiled, pleased with my words.

I put the car in drive, glancing at the clock. We had ten minutes to drive to school to make it on time, which meant no food tonight. My stomach let out a moan, but I ignored it and turned the music up louder. It's her fault we couldn't eat and it's gonna be her fault if we don't make it in time.
