♡ Megan's POV ♡
I'd like to think that everyone brought into your life is all part of the formula to help you grow. Whether it be an ex boyfriend to teach you love, a close friend to give you someone to talk to, or a brother to guide you through life. For me, Matt became all those things.
He was an ex boyfriend that showed me that love is everything it's cut out to be and more. He taught me that it's possible to love someone so deeply that it's hard to let go. He showed me that someone who loves you always puts your needs first; and that even when you fall out of love, being friends isn't the worst.
At times where I needed a friends, he gave me a shoulder to cry on and reassured me that things would get better. He was the glue to hold me together when I was falling apart and then became the rock to make sure I stayed that way. Even through the worst of times, he always found his way back, always.
He became the brother I never had when I learned to forgive and forget. He'd help guide me out of situations and taught me to move on. Through thick and thing, he's been there for me. It was a feeling I wanted to return.
Although my love for him romantically faded, my love for him as a friend and brother only grew stronger. He became one of the most important people in my life when he could've just as easily said goodbye. Instead he stayed.
Or at least, he did at first.
"Megan, you gotta give me another chance," Matt begged, practically on his knees. I could feel the pain in his words, but I couldn't let another guy down; not when I knew exactly where we stood.
"I'm sorry, Matt." He loosened his grip, pulling back and getting up. "We can still be friends."
"We're already friends." He started to back up, pausing to think about his next response. "Always and forever. But it's just not what I want."
He backed up even further before finally walking away, crying. The tears had stunned me as I watched him leave, getting up to sit with Jaden. He hugged me from the side, comforting me. My friends all stared.
"You want to get out of here?" Jaden mumbled into my ear as the dance continued with heavy beats. I nodded, shooting my friends a sorry look before getting back outside with Jaden.
We walked to the car, still decorated, making my heart skip a beat in the slightest. He opened the car door and I smiled with gratitude.
I made the right choice, right? Jaden showed me how all the simple things in life could be turned into something more. Yet at the same time, Matt showed me how to appreciated the little things.
Jaden began driving, not trying to start a conversation. Although the silence was awkward, it was appreciated. Talking to me wouldn't have been very successful anyways.
I laid my head back, resting my eyes. I thought about my situation before feeling myself fall into the unconscious.

"Baby," I heard Jaden say into my ear, followed by my shoulder being shaken. I opened my eyes, his face looked panicked.
I sat up, looking at Jaden. "What happened?" My eyes were sleepy, I was half awake.
"The hospital called your phone," Jaden said. "It's about Matt."
I woke up in a matter of seconds, looking at Jaden worriedly. "Matt? What's Matt doing at the hospital?"
"Something about him wanting to see you and being in critical condition."
Suddenly, the world stopped spinning and my heart dropped to the floor. I couldn't move from my position, my arms feeling like they'd give out any second.
