"Matt!" I screamed hysterically, my arms flailing around. He had me by the waist as he swung me upwards and let me go, throwing me into the cold water of the ocean. I surfaced, the goosebumps rolling down my spine. I quickly jumped onto his back, tackling him into the water.

"What the hell Soph!" Matt exclaimed as he stood back up with me still on his back. He shook his hair, all the water droplets going everywhere.

"You're not a dog Matt!" I giggled, slapping his back lightly. He walked us back onto the beach, putting me down on the sand.

"Let's take a walk," Matt smiled, taking my hand into his. He began walking down the beach, my head leaning against his shoulder. My hair was in spaghetti strings thanks to Matt; my makeup running crazily down my face. I hid my face from everybody at the beach behind my hair, my nose nuzzled behind Matt's arm. "What are you doing baby girl?"

"Hiding," I answered, embarrassed of the raccoon vibes I was giving off.

"Why?" Matt questioned, stopping in his tracks. He pulled my face from behind his arm, lifting my chin up. He pushed my wet hair away from my face, tucking it behind my ear. He nodded, wiping his thumbs across my cheeks and chuckling with a silly smile on his face.

"What's so funny?" I asked, confusion clear in my voice.

"Your makeup is gone." He started walking again, wrapping an arm around my waist.

"Yeah, I know. It's not the prettiest sight", I joked, half serious. He shook his head, looking down at me again.

"You're kidding right?" he mumbled. I shook my head, bit my lip, and looked down at the ground. "You are so typical. Why is every girl on this damn planet so insecure?"

"Maybe because I see a girl and all I can think is she's so pretty. Why can't I have her looks?" He stopped in his tracks once again, sitting me down in the sand. He turned my head so that we were face to face, just looking into my eyes. Then he smiled at me with just his lips, caressing my face with his hands.

"You are so beautiful, Sophia Ann Grey. I can't find the words to express the beauty radiating from not just your looks, but your personality. You are literally the most down-to-earth human I've ever met and on top of that, you're fucking sexy. But for some reason, you don't see it. I'm sure there's a girl somewhere at this beach thinking about what you just told me. She's thinking to herself, that girl over there is so pretty. And even though you may not think so, I know you are. And so do your parents, your little sister, your best friends, and that girl, wherever she may be. So please, don't hide yourself from the world just because you don't think you're pretty. Because in my eyes, you're the most attractive girl out here. That's all that should matter." He pulled me into a hug, my body melting into his warm embrace.

"Thank you, Matt. I needed that." He brushed his fingers through my hair softly, his other hand resting on the side of my head.

"No need to thank me, I was just stating the truth."
