When the time is right, you'll know. When your ready, you'll know. You know these things people say when we worry or overthink or question how we will just know something.
And believe me, I've had more then plenty of time with these moments. And it wasn't till around 2 weeks ago I can't to think that when you don't think about something, it happens.
If you tell someone who's nervous not to be nervous, it doesn't make them not feel nervous. When someone worries about something in their work, or personal lives, telling ourselves to not think about won't work.
It's like when someone tells someone not to look at them, some of us too easily find ourselves looking too fast and some of us are more able to follow what they want us not to do.
I've thought about it numerous times when I find myself on my first date and think about when he shows a sign that he's about to make the move. I don't know how to kiss, so that causes/creates worry or lots of thinking. The last time I believe that I can remember I kissed was my dad when I was young.
During the early years as a kid when your parents kiss you good night. I haven't since and I don't really know how to kiss. People say: well pucker up like a fish.
Anyway, in the past 2 weeks, it came to me that if you focus your mind on something else like games, any movies, tv shows or any other activity that won't bring your worries or thoughts of screwing up my first kiss, the more likely it will be to let it happen naturally without thinking about it.
When I'm on my first date, I will do my best to be in the moment and enjoy the conversation with my cute, handsome date and when he makes the move, I'll be ready!
