Armando Riviera was at home and was not prepared for the conversation he would be having with his foster sons', Jesus Gutierrez and Jude Jacob Gutierrez. He sighed and wished that he could adopt them, but after his brother and sister-in-law died, they left him his niece Lexi in their will.
"Jesus, Jude I need to see you both. We have to talk," Armando added as the two boys' nodded and followed their foster dad to the family room. Jesus was pensive, while Jude was smiling ear to ear. Jesus knew it was bad, but Jude was still hopeful.
The two boys' walked in after their foster dad and took a seat in front of him. Jesus was a year older than Jude and sighed. He knew it was going to be bad and eyed the older man that really cared about them.
"What's going on?" Jesus asked with a bad feeling in his whole being.
"As you two know, my brother and his wife passed away and I will be moving into their home in a few weeks. "They also left me their daughter Lexi and I just became her guardian," he added.
"Okay," Jesus added. Jude was starting to look scared now.
"What are you trying to say?" Jude asked for his older brother.
"My niece has pets. I can't make her give them away since she lost her parents already," he added. Jesus and Jude sighed. "I really wanted to adopt you both, but with them dying, my niece needs me."
"I understand," Jesus added. "It is fine."
"So we have to leave?" Jude asked. Armando nodded and eyed them with a pang in his heart. He really wanted to make them Rivera, but did not know how. He sighed as they asked to be left alone. He nodded and gave them space as she eyed them.
"I feel so bad Jesus," Jude added. "He was going to adopt us and all."
"I feel bad too, but real family matters most," Jesus added. "We will find our family."
Jude nodded as he cried and Jesus held him in his arms. Armando cried too as he buried his hands in his face. He got a call from Lexi.
"Hi baby girl. What's going on?" he asked.
"I gave my pets away," Lexi added. "I sent them to Sam Coopers' ranch. They need the space to run around," she added.
"Are you sure?" he asked. "Why?"
"I want Jesus and Jude to be my brothers'," she added. "And I know you want them to be your son's. They finally need a family."
"Thank you baby girl," Armando added. "Are you sad?"
"No. Since I know they have a bigger place to play and explore at," she added.
"I will tell them the good news," he added.
"But they need to share a room," she added. "I have my own room, as do Owen and Oliver."
"They share anyways," he added.
Three hours later, Armando eyed the two boys. "Hey boys we need to talk again."
"About what?" Jesus asked as he wiped Jude's tears.
"Lexi called and she did something that was selfless. She gave her two dogs away for a better life. She gave them to Sam Cooper," he added.
"Why?"
"She wants the two of you to be her brother's," he added. Jesus and Jude eyed him skeptical at first. "Are you sure?" they both asked.
"We are all sure," he added. "The adoption is in a month."
"Really?" Jesus and Jude asked.
"Yup and the two of you will need to share a room at home," he added.
