A Different Type of Family

Horses

Dana Elizabeth Adams was reading a article about how Horses are a good way to help with therapy and for people hurt with weapons. So she smiled as she decided to buy two Horses for Callie to help her heal. The Horses were taken to Cooper Ranch, which is owned and operated by Sammy Cooper, Stef's cousin. 

The Horses were shot by their old owners, but they both survived. The boy and girl Horse were scared of people and especially men. Dana Adams showed up at the Adams Foster home and Lena opened the door to see her mama on the other side.

"Mama, what are you doing here?" Lena asked happily.

"Do I need to have an excuse to see my only daughter and grand babies?" Dana asked.

"No," Lena added. "Come in."

"So who is here?" Dana asked.

"Just the triplets," Lena added. "My other babies had prior engagements and AJ is still at Frank and Sharon's."

"Oh," Dana added. "I have a surprise for my Angel buggy."

Every time Dana mentioned the word surprise, Lena got scared. "Do I need to be scared."

"No. I promise," Dana added. An hour later, Lena, Dana and the triplets went to Cooper Ranch.

"Hi Lena, Dana, Kids," Sammy Cooper added. 

"Hi Sammy," Lena added. "It is great to see you."

"Hi Uncle Sammy," the triplets added. 

"Well let's go see Callie's surprise," Sammy added. He brought them to see the two abused Horses. "Dana?"

"Angel buggy. These are two rescue Horses and I purchased them for you. Horses are used for all types of therapy issues."

Callie smiled as she got two apples and was about to give them to the Horses.

"Watch out. They almost bit my hand," a guy named Seth Moss added. Lena looked scared as she eyed Callie go over to the Horses. They smelled her and stayed still.

Callie nodded and gave them each an apple and they did not get agitated or upset. 

"WOW!" Seth added. "They like her."

"How where they hurt?" Callie asked.

"Their old owners shot them with guns and they both survived," Dana added.

"Oh," Callie replied softly. "Like me?"

"Yup," Sammy added. "And they have no names."

"I get to name them?" Callie asked.

"Yup. They are yours," Dana added. 

"What are they?" Callie asked.

"The brown one is a girl, the black one is a boy," Seth added.

"Liberty for my girl and Freedom for my boy," Callie added. 

"Those names are perfect," Caleb added. 

"The best," Callum added.

"They suit them," Lena added who smiled at her mama. They stayed for a few hours as the triplets went to see the Horses run in the enclosed area. 

A few weeks later, Lena noticed some new change in Callie and her nightmares were way less, she still slept with Lena, but it could be a lotm of other things as well. Lena smiled as Callie ate breakfast. 

At school, Lexi was excited to hear about Callie's new Horses. "When can we met them?"

"How about after school? XC was cancelled," Callie added as her love nodded.
