A few days after coming home, the six youngest Adams Foster kids were at Anchor Beach getting their new IDs for the school year and their fall schedules and other things before school started in a few weeks. Lena eyed her six youngest as they got their IDs and she tried not to cry.
It was different with AJ and the triplets since she had raised them with Stef since they were babies and she remembered the first time she met AJ and the first time she met the triplets and wiped her tears.
Monte eyed her boss. "They grow up don't they?" she asked as Lena turned and faced her as she nodded as the tears slipped. "It seems like I barely adopted AJ and met the twins."
"I never had Garrett or Gabriel as babies, but they are my babies now and it is hard too," Monte replied. Lena nodded.
"I was there for their first words, first steps, first timeouts, and many more firsts," Lena added. She eyed Monte again and felt something different about her. "You seem different."
"Jenna said I could tell you and we told the twins last night. "I'm pregnant. The IVF took."
"Oh Monte. How wonderful," Lena added as they hugged.
"I know. I feel weird and all," Monte added as she patted her small baby bump. Lena smiled as they hugged.
"How did the twins take the news?" Lena asked.
"Okay. But I hope it's a girl. So does Jenna," Monte added. "At last the house has four rooms."
Lena nodded. "Why didn't you and Stef have one between you guys?"
Lena sighed. "After Ty I could never have anymore and Stef couldn't after the triplets. We were complete and we adopted two sets of twins later in life."
"Plus it is eleven," Monte added. Lena nodded.
"We have five in college and six soon to be seniors," Lena replied as Monte nodded.
"I understand," Monte added. "After I give birth. Jenna wants to do IVF."
Lena nodded. "I remember when Kelly miscarried. Jenna was hardly at home."
"I guess I can understand why Kelly felt she was alone," Monte replied. Lena nodded.
At that moment, the Adams Foster triplets came over. "Hi mama," they added.
"Hi baby triplets," Lena added. Caleb frowned, Callum sighed and Callie smiled. Lena knew the boys hated when they were called baby triplets.
"Mama. Baby triplets?" Caleb and Callum asked. "That is so daycare."
"I'm okay with it," Callie added.
"You would be," Caleb added. "You're a girl."
Lena stopped the three. "So let me see the new IDs."
As she eyed them she started to cry again. The three sighed. "Mama we are seventeen."
"Yes I know and still my baby triplets," Lena added. Just then, AJ and the youngest twins came toward them. "I see the faucet has a leak?" AJ asked.
"A leak? More like a rupture," Caleb and Callum added. Callie and Lena sighed. Lena saw the other IDs and wiped new tears.
"A flood," Jack added. All the boys' laughed and Lena wiped her tears and gave her IDs back to her kids. "Mama. I love it when you still call us baby triplets and I know I will always be your baby buggy," Callie added.
Lena nodded as she hugged her girl as she and her brothers' walked home. Lena and Monte eyed her as she caught up to her brothers'.
"I hope I have a daughter like Callie," Monte added. Lena nodded with a smile.
