"Alright guys so I have an announcement." Dan grinned, unable to hide his excitement.

All the kids were turned to look at him, waiting for whatever he was going to say next.

"You know how photography always goes on a school sponsored field trip? Well if you all are okay with it, I'm planning on taking everyone to the wombats concert in April if that's alright with all of you."

With that, all of their heads snapped up, as if to listen closer.

"I know it's unconventional and all, but I know the singer so it'll actually super cheap. All we gotta do is pay for the bus to the venue and then food and extra stuff." He beamed, proud of himself for once.

"How do you know him?" Matt asked, his voice laced with excitement.

"Well you guys know I used to be a solo artist. Me and Murph the singer were both trying to get our careers stared at the same time. Because of this we would open for each other, and I don't know we just clicked." Dan laughed, scratching his head.

"Tell us more stories."

"Well we were gonna talk about ISO today but you know fuck it."

He then climbed in top of his table and began to think back. Dan had an abundance of stories to tell.

"Well uh, you know the term starving artist?" He began thinking back to his days on the streets.

"I actually was one for a while. Right after college my dumbass thought that I would make it in the art world. The problem is that I'm hella lazy and didn't want to do anything about it." Dan began smiling to himself as he remembered his own stupidity.

"And it got to the point where I had already pawned off all my possessions except for my art supplies and my house. So you would think I would sell the art supplies. Nope! I sold my house and told myself it would be for a little while. Well six months later I had been mugged and literally only had six dollars in my name." He watched as all their eyes widened.

"I would literally do anything for a bit of money. Well almost anything. Like one time I had to watch this woman's dog while she went shopping. It was crazy."

"What did you do?" One of them asked, making him chuckle to himself.

"Well I, uh, once I got enough money I bought myself an I pod. It was the tiny square one, but that to me was worth the fifty dollars and months it took to buy it. So me and my I pod continued a little longer until my mom saw me while out shopping. She hadn't supported my artist career but let me stay with them for a little bit until I got back on my feet. And that's about it."

All of them had their mouthed hung open, in disbelief that the man in front of him had been homeless. He didn't seem put together like most teachers but it still surprised him. But then again Dan wasn't much of a teacher.

While most of them wore khakis and pale blue button ups he was completely different. His signature outfit was his black skinny jeans that never seemed to properly cover his entire ass, constantly exposing his checkered boxers. On the top it was almost always a plain white or black shirt with an opener flannel. And finally his hair was always the same. It looked like he had gotten gel and just pushed back his hair quickly.

In conclusion all the girls wanted him, and all the guys wanted to be like him.

"Well to get back on topic I'll hand out these permission slips get them signed within the next couple of weeks along with five dollars for the bus, and we'll be golden." He grinned, passing out the slips.

He didn't know if it was the thought of seeing Murph again, or the fact that him and Kyle had their first date in exactly four hours. But he was sweating nervously, his hands trembling the slightest.

All he wanted was to not fuck up things with his best friend.
