"You know, I honesty didn't know if you would ever be coming back to me." Dan can't help but smile as he looks across the bed and sees Kyle sitting up. They haven't done anything of that nature but both of them are only wearing boxers.

Kyle can't help but breathe a sigh of relief. It's like a breath of fresh air, the first day of spring after a long winter.

"I didn't either." He lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding and looks at the man next to him. Dan is just so, beautiful. And the word he wants to describe him isn't beautiful. It's gentle and kind and caring and fucking wonderful, but beautiful covers all of those.

Dan is one of those types of human whose beauty on the outside matches the inside. He's truly too good for Kyle, and both men know it.

"I'm glad you did. There was so many nights I wanted to call you. But every time I talked myself out of it." He laughs, remembering the conversations him and Charlie had too frequently.

"Dan he fucked up, you have nothing to apologize for."

Dan can hear Charlie's voice ringing in his head, and he's not sure how he would feel about him laying in bed with Kyle. It's not that Charlie didn't like Kyle necessarily, but he isn't fond oh him. He doesn't like how hurt his friend, and for that Dan knows the two will never be close.

"So you've been sober?" He switches the topic of conversation before things go too deep. His heart already feels like it's going to burst it if his chest, it doesn't need any more stress.

"Uh, yeah. Gave all the booze to one of my friends." Kyle feels like he's going to burst into tears any second now.

"Good." Dan smiles, moving just a little closer to Kyle. He can feel his heartbeat increase, it's a feeling he misses. It's not like the cliche butterflies. No, it's just an overall feeling. It's the warm fuzzy feeling that starts in his stomach and spread throughout his entire body.

"Please tell me you're still into photography." And with that Dan smiles, and pulls out a journal.

To be honest, he didn't chose to create a journal of pictures. But he assigned it as a assignment for his class, and agreed to join in. And after a few weeks the whole idea stuck, so now he holds the small book in his hand that easy contains 500 pictures of his. Some of them are depressing, but some aren't. It's a perfect mix.

"You made this?" Kyle asks him, watching as Dan reluctantly hands him the journal.

"Yeah I made one along with my students. It was like an on-going thing." He chuckles watching Kyle flip through the pages.

He then stops, looking at the picture carefully. It's not like the others. This picture is of the two of them, mouths wide open taking a selfie.

Kyle can remember it like it was yesterday

Kyle can remember it like it was yesterday. The picture was taken before they were together, and they were just friends. It seems that the picture was taken decades ago, but when he thinks back it hasn't been long at all.

"Remember this? It was that night we went to that god-awful karaoke bar.

"How could I forget!" Dan smiles, thinking back.

That night isn't all there in either man's mind, and that probably has something due to the large amount of alcohol consumed. But what Dan does remember was the duet they did to Hey Ya by Outcast. The duet was off beat, and just terrible despite the fact that both men can sing quite well.

"Heyyyyyyyyy yaaaa." Kyle grins, softly closing the journal.

"Heyyyyyyy yaaa." Dan finishes, silently making a promise to himself to make more of those type of memories.

He has to.
