"Mr. Smith can you come into my office for a second?" Mr. Gordon asked, standing in the doorway of his office.

All Dan could think was shit. It had been only a few days since his breakdown, surly one of the students had gone to the principal.

"Sure." He said, walking into the office and sitting down.

"Care to tell me about Mr. Simmons?" He sat down, raising his eyebrows. In that moment Dan could feel his cheeks heating up as he looked to the principal.

"We were friends, not anymore." He said quickly.

"You sure about that?"

He quickly shook his head.

"Well for some reason I'm thinking differently." He then turned the computer monitor to face Dan and pressed play in the video. It was a snapchat video of him and Kyle at the museum, holding hands. In the background he could hear two girls talking.

"Is that your ceramics teacher and the photography teacher? Oh my god it is. I knew it!"

Dan then sank a little in the chair, feeling his heart racing.

"It gets better." He said pulling up another video. This time it was from a security camera. First Dan walked out to his car, and then by a minute later Kyle made his way to the car. The film then showed them making out in the car.

"I can exp..."

"Don't bother."

The principal leaned back in his chair, looking at Dan, making him feel like a child in trouble. It was like when got sent to the principal's office in middle school.

"You're a lucky man." He said, pulling out a stack of papers.

"Why's that sir?" Dan asked, confused as hell. How could someone be lucky while getting chewed out?

"Well because I'm not going to be firing you. I typically don't allow any type of teacher relationships but since Mr. Simmons resigned, I've decided not to fire you."

It was like somebody had cut off the air to his lungs. He was struggling to breath. How could Kyle just leave?

"You never tell them you're leaving. It hurts too much for the both of you."

Kyle's words rang through his head, playing like a broken record.

"Besides you have the highest rating from the student survey. It's obvious you're doing something right." Mr. Gordon said, watching as the man sitting in front of him fell apart.

"He's gone." Dan muttered, zoning out.

---

"Dan you're a beautiful human being." Kyle grinned, watching as Dan blushed like crazy. He couldn't accept compliments to save his life.

"Stop." He mumbled, looking as the sun illuminated Kyle's beautiful Carmel eyes. It was crazy. Normally the morning after Dan would wake up alone, regretting his actions. But no, laying next to him was a beautiful man. It had been their first time together.

"You are though I mean you and your body are beautiful of course, but Dan your personality is too." He laughed as he watched Dan blush harder, pulling the covers up higher in an attempt to cover his blushing cheeks.

"I love you Kyle." He said, feeling as Kyle planted a soft kiss on his forehead.

"Promise me, you won't leave."

"I promise you Dan I'll never leave you."

Dan held out his pinky finger, grinning as Kyle took it and twisted their pinkies.

---

He knocked on the door, his hands shaking like crazy. There was no response so he tried opening the door. To his luck it was unlocked.

The apartment that he had spent so much of his past months in was completely empty. All the furniture had been removed, everything gone.

His knees buckled and he collapsed in the ground.

"Oh my god." He cried, his voice wavering. His whole body was trembling, his worst fear coming to life.

"He, he left!" Dan shouted to the empty apartment, listening as it echoed back.
