Codie's parents allow her to keep the blonde puppy, whom she names Clementine, Clem for short. Parker named the brown one Cocoa and is going to have him trained to be a therapy dog. At first, Buddy isn't very happy about having another dog in the house, but soon gets used to Clem and even starts playing with her.

"So, since your parents won't be home until later, do you want to come over to my house for dinner?" Parker asks Codie.

She shrugs and says, "I'd have to ask them first."

"Okay, if you want to. You don't have to, I just thought it would be better than staying here all alone."

"Yes, when you put it that way, it does sound better. Let me give them a call." Codie goes upstairs and grabs her phone.

Half an hour later, Codie is sitting next to Parker at his family's table. Parker's parents are very sweet and even tell Codie she can stay the night. However, Codie decides she should go home later on. Parker's mom has made tortellini with cesar salad. Parker suggests they watch a movie after dinner and Codie agrees.

"Very delicious dinner, thank you very much for having me." Codie thanks his parents before they leave the table and go upstairs to his bedroom.

"Oh, we are very delighted to have you." His mom replies before they leave.

"So what movie do you want to watch?" Parker asks as they get into his bedroom and sit on his bed.

"I don't know, what do you have?" Codie asks.

"Over here." They go over to a shelf full of DVDs.

Codie scans through them and finds her favorite, The Lion King. Parker puts the movie on and they sit on his bed and watch it. In the middle of the movie, Parker reaches his arm around Codie's neck and rests it on her shoulder. Codie notices but doesn't mind and even leans closer to him. After the movie, Parker takes Codie back home. Her parents greet her and hug her.

"So did you have a good time?" Laura asks.

"Oh yeah his parents are really nice and we watched The Lion King. It was so much fun!" Codie replies.

"Well that's good. We had a good time tonight too. Didn't we, honey?"

Her dad nods his head as he heads into the living room.

"Hey my babies!" Codie greets her two dogs who are very happy to see her and jump on her legs.

"I know, I missed you guys too." Codie says, as she starts petting them.

Codie sees the picture on her bed and heads downstairs, Clem following her, but Buddy just flops on her bed. Right as she's about to take the last two steps, Codie hears her parents talking.

"What are we supposed to tell her, Steve?" Her mom asks.

"I don't know, it's going to be so hard." Steve replies.

"I know. She's going to be so upset."

"Arf!" Clem barks, almost giving Codie away, but she quickly grabs her and heads back upstairs, depressed.

So what do you guys think her parents are worried about telling her?? Let me know what you guys think! Thanks for reading.
