The next day, Codie calls both Parker and Mekaila to see if they want to go for a run, asking them to bring their dogs with, too.
"Meatball isn't a very good runner, but Cocoa will definitely have a great time." Parker says.
"Cowgirl and I would love to!" Mekaila is excited.
Parker gets to her house first, Clementine excited to see her brother. They roll around and chew on each other for a few minutes.
"So, um...." Parker trails off.
"Huh? What's up?" Codie asks.
"Do you want.... um... do you want..."
"Parker, what is it?" Codie is confused.
"Do you want to be my girlfriend?" Parker spits it all out, quickly.
"Oh."
"Oh?" Parker asks.
Codie laughs, "yes, of course I do!"
They hug, right as there's a knock on the door. It's Mekaila, Cowgirl, and Seth.
"Hey guys." Codie says, opening the door.
"I hope you don't mind, I ran into Seth and he wanted to join us." Mekaila says.
"That's completely fine, the more the merrier." Codie says, getting her running shoes on.
Her and Parker leash up their dogs, smiling at each other, faces inches apart.
"Did I miss something?" Mekaila asks.
"Oh, sorry, it just happened. Parker and I are a thing now." Codie says.
"Oh cool, so are Seth and I." Mekaila says, as Seth grabs her hand.
"Let's go!" Parker runs out the door, Cocoa following him.
"Right behind ya!" Codie and Clementine follow quickly.
They all four run, the dogs keeping up with them. Once they get to a dirt road, where hardly anyone lives, they let the dogs off the leashes and just walk. Codie takes a drink from her water bottle, as do all the others from theirs. Parker and Codie walk hand in hand, while Mekaila and Seth do the same. They all four chat and enjoy the beautiful weather.
