Boyfriend Stealer

Chapter 18

The next day, Codie, Parker, Mekaila, and Seth all come to school together in Mekaila's jeep. They pull into the parking lot, chatting excitedly and laughing. Madison, Tiffany, Stacy, Austin, and Shane stare at them, as they get out of the jeep. They stare even more, jaws dropping, when they see Parker and Codie holding hands and then Mekaila and Seth holding hands. They see the populars, but don't pay any attention to them as they walk to class.

"What the heck was that?!?" Tiffany exclaims, flailing her arms.

"I know, right?" Madison is furious.

"Austin, give me your hand." Tiffany offers her hand to Austin and he smiles and takes it.

"Hey! What about me?" Stacy whines.

"Here." Shane offers her his hand and she takes it, smiling and blushing.

Madison shrugs, saying, "I'll find someone eventually."

"Yes, you will, and I'll help you." Tiffany says, as they walk to class.

"What's up?" Emma runs over to Codie at lunch.

"Hey Emma, not much. Just waiting for my friends." Codie replies, texting on her phone.

"So, um, you and Parker, huh?"

"Yeah, he just asked me yesterday. I couldn't believe it, I mean we just met and all, but we do have a lot of things in common and he's really nice. So I said yes, of course, wouldn't you have?" Codie smiles at Emma.

"Yeah, totally." Emma says, smiling back and flicking her pink hair.

Just then, Madison, Tiffany, and Stacy stroll out of the cafeteria, followed by Austin, Shane, and a guy Codie hasn't seen before. They immediately go over to Emma and Codie.

"Hey girls-" Codie starts, but is immediately cut off by Tiffany, "don't 'hey girls', us! You little traitor!"

"What-" Codie is cut off again, this time by Madison, "how dare you forget about our trip to the mall?!!? I thought we were friends!"

"Oh Madi, I'm so sorry, I forgot-" but Codie isn't allowed to finish, as Tiffany says, "yeah, you forgot all about your "best friend," she emphasizes best friend.

Before Codie can say anything, Madison says, "we are through, you loser. Enjoy your new loser friends."

"Yeah, what a loser." Stacy smirks.

"Knock if off!" Emma shouts.

"What! How dare you speak to us like that, you're out of the group too and Mekaila is as well." Tiffany says and they all storm off, leaving Codie and Emma at the table, Codie shaking and about to tear up.

"Codie, are you-" before Emma can finish, Codie takes off and runs into the bathroom, Mekaila, Seth, and Parker watching her, wondering what's going on.

"What happened?!!? What did you do?!!?" Mekaila demands, walking over to Emma and sitting down at the table.

"I swear, I had nothing to do with it. Tiffany, Madison, and Stacy came out and Madison says she's no longer friends with her, Tiffany kicked her and you out of the popular group, and they all three called her and you guys losers." It all comes rushing out of Emma quickly.

"No one hurts her and gets away with it." Parker says and Mekaila and Seth nod in agreement.

Then they notice a kid they've never seen before standing a few feet away, watching them. Curious, they walk over to him.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Parker asks, a little rudely.

"Woah, turn it down, dude." Seth says, and Parker apologizes.

"I'm sorry, I'm Dakota and I'm new here...." the kid says.

"Hey, you were with the populars." Emma says.

"Yeah...." he trails off.

"Were you in on it, too?" Mekaila asks.

"Mekaila, let's not accuse him. You should go check on Codie, anyway, she needs you." Emma says.

"Right." Mekaila heads to the bathrooms.

"So were you a part of it?" Seth asks.

"No, I swear, I had nothing to do with it. I didn't even know that they were going to do it." Dakota says.

Just then, there's  shout, "Dakota, get over here!" They look up and see Madison waving him over.

Parker immediately runs over to Madison, giving her a stern look. Seth and Dakota come over, too.

"You ever hurt my girlfriend like that again and you're going to get it." Parker says.

"Whatever." Madison smacks her gum.

"Get away from her dude, you're girlfriend is lame." Shane says, coming between Parker and Madison.

Parker can't stand it anymore, he balls up his fist and punches Shane in the face. Shane throws a punch, but Parker dodges, then they start pulling punches, kicks, and go into an all out fight. A couple of teachers break them up, after a few minutes, and they both get taken to the principal's office.

Codie and Mekaila come out of the bathroom, wondering where everybody went.
