Codie wakes up the next morning to the sound of her alarm, it's Monday and time to go back to school. She's feeling a little better, but she still has a headache and her legs hurt, so she can't really walk. Now, instead of being warm, she's cold, so she immediately puts her robe on and stays in it. After going to the bathroom and washing her face, Codie heads downstairs, slowly. As she gets to the bottom, she almost falls, but manages to catch herself.
"Good morning, swee-" Lisa stops, as Codie almost falls again, "sit down, Codie, take it easy."
Codie sighs and sits down on the couch, "my legs are killing me."
"I'll go get some Tylenol and the thermometer." Lisa goes into their bathroom.
She then goes into the kitchen and comes back out with two Tylenol, a glass of water, and the thermometer. Codie takes the Tylenol, drinks all of the water, and takes her temperature. Her temperature isn't as high as it was yesterday, but is still a bit high.
"Back to bed, young lady. Chris, come carry your sister to her room please!"
"Mom, I can do it-" Codie starts to get up, but her mom stops her, "no, you can't, let Chris help you."
Chris arrives and scoops his little sister up and carries her upstairs and sets her down on her bed. He gives her a big hug and tells her to get some rest and that he and their mom will take care of her. Her mom comes upstairs, a few minutes later, with a tray of food. There's waffles topped with fruit and a glass of orange juice.
"What about school?" Codie asks, looking concerned.
"I'll call them and tell them you're sick. You're definitely not going to school in this state, sweetie. You need to get better." Her mom gives her a stern, but comforting look.
"Fine." Codie sighs.
"I'm guessing your cold." Lisa notices Codie's robe.
Codie nods, shivering a little. Buddy jumps up on the bed and lays by Codie's legs. Clementine is nowhere to be found.
"Where's Clem, mom?"
"Oh, she was driving us crazy because she was bored, so dad took her over to Parker's to play and be with Cocoa for the day."
"Oh, cool." Codie shivers a little more.
"I'll turn the temperature up and bring you some more blankets."
"Thank you."
Codie grabs her phone and texts Mekaila that she won't need a ride to school because she's sick. She also texts Parker and updates him.

'Huh, Codie's sick'. Mekaila is deep in thought, as she pulls into the school parking lot. Seth is waiting for her by the front office. He can immediately tell something is on her mind, as she approaches.
"What's up?" He asks.
"Oh, not much..." She trails off.
"Mekaila, what's wrong?" He asks.
"Codie is sick and I'm very worried about her."
"Oh, I was just about to ask where she's at. I'm sorry, babe, but she's strong, she'll get through this." He grabs and squeezes her hand.
"I hope so."
Just then, Parker comes walking up to them. He and Seth high five and bro hug, and he says hello to Mekaila.
"I'm guessing Codie texted you too?" Mekaila asks.
"Yeah, she did. It's going to be weird not having her here." Parker sighs.
"Don't worry bro, she'll pull through and be fine." Seth pats him on the back.
"I know, she's strong." They head towards the cafeteria area.

Codie finishes breakfast and turns on T.V., she then checks her phone. There's a get well soon message from Mekaila and a get well soon, love you from Parker. She sends a smiley face back to Mekaila and a heart back to Parker. She misses them so much, she wishes she could be at school right now. Buddy cuddles close to Codie and she pets him. Her mom brought her two quilts and two blankets. She's huddled under all four of them, while Buddy is laying on top.
Chris peaks his head in, saying, "how are you doing, squirt?"
"I'm fine, thanks." Codie giggles at his nickname, he hasn't used it in a while.
"Well, I'm going out, but mom will be here for you, okay?"
"Okay, where are you going?"
"To hang out with some friends."
"Okay, have fun."
Chris leaves and Codie goes back to watching T.V. for a little while, and then falls back to sleep.

"Hey guys, where's Codie?" Emma runs up to a table, where Mekaila, Seth, and Parker are sitting, eating lunch.
"She's sick." Mekaila says.
"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that." Emma sits down and starts eating her sandwich.
Parker looks down at the ground and doesn't talk, he misses Codie so much. Seth knows this and leaves him alone, as he knows he's not in the mood for anything.
"Anyway, did you have a good weekend, Mekaila?" Emma tries to change the subject.
"Yeah, it was nice." Mekaila makes it sound like she did nothing.
"Oh, that's good." Emma is saddened too.
The bell rings and students start going back to classes. Parker grabs his backpack and stands up.
"Well, see you after school." He says and starts toward the office.
"Poor Parker, detention and Codie." Mekaila sighs.
Seth walks Mekaila to her class, while Emma heads in the opposite direction, saying bye to them. Tiffany walks right behind Emma, stepping on the backs of her shoes. Stacy and Austin laugh and shout.
"Would you stop that please?" Emma asks, turning around to face them.
"Stop what?" Tiffany taunts her.
Before she can say anything, Dakota appears out of nowhere, saying, "she wants you to stop stepping on the backs of her shoes."
Then, he takes Emma away and they walk to class, before Tiffany, who's mouth has dropped open, can say anything.
"What a freak." Stacy says.
Madison just stands there, starring at Emma and Dakota, who are almost into the building.
"Madison?" Tiffany asks.
"Yes?" She asks.
"C'mon, or we are going to be late for class."
"Coming!"
