Codie gets woken up by Clementine licking her face the next morning. Giggling, she says, "good morning, Clem, please stop." She pushes her away, yawns, and stretches in bed. Last thing she remembers is watching the movie with Parker. She figures she must have fallen asleep and Parker went home while she was sleeping. Buddy and Clementine are both on Codie's bed and start begging for her attention. She pets them both, then goes to the bathroom, and heads downstairs.
"Pancakes!" She exclaims, as she grabs a couple and a plate. She puts syrup, butter, and blueberries on them and starts digging in.
"Good morning, hungry are we?" Lisa laughs, flipping another pancake.
"Yeah, I didn't eat dinner because I fell asleep during the movie. I had a really long day yesterday." Codie sighs.
"Chris told us about some of it, sweetie. Do you want to talk about the rest of it?" Lisa asks, sympathetically.
"Not really." Codie says, as her phone buzzes.
She looks at it and sees it's from Parker, asking if she wants to go to the park with him, Mekaila, Emma, and Seth. She stares at it for a moment, but does want to go.
"Boyfriend?" Chris teases, as he walks in the kitchen, seeing Codie on her phone.
"Shut it." Codie says, but she smiles at her brother.
"You were out last night." He says, as he sits down with a plate of pancakes.
"Yeah, I was. Mom, can I please go to the park with Parker and my other friends?" Codie asks.
"Of course, just be home for lunch." Lisa smiles.
"Thanks." Codie sends a 'yes' back to Parker.
She then goes upstairs, gets dressed, brushes her teeth, and puts her tennis shoes on. Then, she runs out the front door.

"Hey." Parker says, as Codie walks up to the entrance to the park.
"Hi, babe." She hugs him.
Just then, there's footsteps behind them and she turns around, expecting to see Mekaila and Seth, but it's not. It's Dakota.
"Dakota, what are you doing here?" Parker asks him.
"I come here to get away from my step dad." He says, kicking a rock.
"Oh Codie, this is Dakota, he's new here. Dakota, this is my girlfriend, Codie."
He waves at her, shyly, and she waves back. Mekaila and Seth arrive then, Cowgirl with them. Codie hadn't even thought of bringing Clem or Buddy.
"Hi guys, what's up?" Seth asks, high-fiving Parker and Dakota.
"Not much." Codie shrugs.
"Let's go for a walk." Mekaila says, throwing a tennis ball for Cowgirl, who retrieves it and brings it back. She plays fetch for a couple minutes and then they start on their walk.
"So are you friends with the populars or not?" Mekaila asks Dakota, as they are about to start on their walk.
"I was...."- this gets concerned looks from Parker and Seth- "until I saw what they did to Codie." He finishes.
"Good, then you can hang out with us." Mekaila says.
"Thanks, I like you guys much better than them." Dakota says.
They all start on their walk, Cowgirl following at their heals.
"So what's your punishment?" Codie asks Parker, grabbing his hand tightly.
"Oh, five days of in-school detention. Could've been worse." He says, as Codie looks concerned.
"Yeah, I guess it could've." Codie sighs.
"Hey", he says, wrapping his arm around her, "we are going to get through this. It's at school, so I'll see you, I get to go to lunch, and of course, we'll see each other on weekends."
"Yeah, that's true." This cheers Codie up a little bit. She throws Cowgirl's tennis ball for her and she runs after it.
"So how's Country doing?" Codie asks Mekaila, changing the subject.
"Oh much better, she's healed so much since her accident." Mekaila says, as Seth grabs her hand and squeezes it.
"That's great, I'm so glad." Codie smiles.

After their walk, Parker takes Codie home and Seth takes Mekaila home. They pull up in Codie's driveway, and Parker smiles at her. Codie smiles back at him.
"Want to come in?" Codie asks him.
"I'd love to, but I gotta get home and help my dad fix his truck. But we can hang out tomorrow, right?"
"I think so, I'll check with my parents and let you know." She opens the car door and says bye to Parker.
"Love ya!" He calls out, as he drives away and she blows him a kiss.
She heads in the house for lunch.
