As soon as Codie gets on the bus, that afternoon, she texts Mekaila right away. She's so busy typing on her phone that she doesn't even notice Madison standing over her. She just keeps typing and looking at her phone.
"Hello!! Are you ignoring me?!!? Madison is very angry.
"Woah, calm down. I can't believe that you're actually talking to me." Codie looks up from her phone and grins.
"Wipe that stupid grin off your face! Or else..." Madison gives her a look.
"Madi, what's wr-"
"Don't call me that! We aren't friends!" By now, Madison is furious.
Just then, Codie notices that Stacey is right behind Madison and Codie waves at her, but she gets a glare back.
"What do you want then?" Codie asks, going back to her phone.
"Put that thing down for one second and listen to me!" Madison stomps her feet impatiently.
The bus driver tells everyone to take their seats. Madison complains that Codie is in her seat. The bus driver says she doesn't care and this makes Madison even more mad.
"C'mon, let's just sit over here, but just for today." Stacey pulls Madison over to an empty seat and they sit.
"There, everything is okay." Stacey says soothingly, while giving her a shoulder massage.

Mekaila:
Alright, they're abt to x-Ray her here soon & then we will find out what we r dealin with
Codie:
Well that's pretty good, just plz keep me updated. Hang in there & I'll b praying for u guys
Mekaila:
Thx girl, love ya

As soon as Codie gets home, she rushes upstairs to her bedroom, without saying anything to her parents. Laura and Steve exchange worried glances with each other.
"Should I go see what's up?" Laura asks, very worried.
"You probably should, she'll more likely talk to you than me." Steve replies.
"Alright, let's see if I can figure out what's wrong." She heads upstairs.
She knocks on Codie's door, but there's no response.
"Codie, are you okay?!!?" She's very frantic and worried.
She tries opening the door, but it's locked.
"Steve!" She yells down the stairs.
"What?!!?" He calls back up.
"Get the key please! It's locked and there's no response!! I'm really worried and about to freak out!"
"Okay, I'll get the key. Please just relax, I'm sure everything is fine."
He comes up the stairs, about a minute later, with the keys. They immediately unlock the door and look around. They notice that the bathroom light is on and the door is shut.
Her mom knocks lightly, asking, "is everything okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Codie replies.
"Alright sweetie, if you need anything, we are here for you. You can talk to us if you need to."
"Thanks, mom. I'll be alright."
"Okay, sweetie." They head back downstairs.
In her bathroom, Codie is washing her face off from having cried over Country. She then brushes out her hair and then goes out of the bathroom, turns her T.V. on and lays down on her bed.
